Rank Name Team Vs Rushing Receiving Fantasy
Points
Yds TD 1-9 TD 10-39 TD 40+ TD Total Rec Yds TDs
1McCoy,LeSean PHIDAL1500101440025
Without Sean Lee plugging up the middle of the defense McCoy will left to run free.
2Murray,DeMarco DALPHI1251001440022
With Romo likely sidelined, Murray will be the focal point on offense. Big game in the making here.
3Forte,Matt CHIGBP950101430018
The dual threat of by land and by land, Forte will get back over 100 yards in total offense this week.
4Lynch,Marshawn SEASTL901001320017
Beast mode will be out in full force after last week's wake up call.
5Bell,Le'Veon PITCLE801001430017
Quantity over quality, that works in our game.
6Mathews,Ryan SDCKCC901001215016
A workhorse back of late, Mathews will reportedly fight through an ankle injury suffered in Week 16 and looks the part of a borderline RB1 for fantasy.
7Stacy,Zac STLSEA951001215016
He'll have more success than people will think but it won't be enough for the scoreboard.
8Morris,Alfred WASNYG100100100016
Morris has ran well over the past few weeks and New York is weak in every aspect on defense.
9Johnson,Chris NYJMIA800101215015
Houston currently ranks 12th in fantasy points given up to enemy running backs, but you can toss that statistic out the window. The dispirited Texans have not been playing well for weeks. Consider Johnson a solid play as a fantasy RB2.
10Moreno,Knowshon MIANYJ601001435015
No more than 15 carries in any of his last four games, nevertheless he remains a solid bet for RB1 level fantasy production.
11Jackson,Fred BUFNEP701001325015
Jackson is playing with a Broken rib, but New England is one of the worst NFL defenses defending against the run.
12Johnson,Chris NYJMIA800101215015
Houston currently ranks 12th in fantasy points given up to enemy running backs, but you can toss that statistic out the window. The dispirited Texans have not been playing well for weeks. Consider Johnson a solid play as a fantasy RB2.
13Bell,Joique DETMIN450000550115
Heavily involved in the passing game last week, a sneaky decent option this week.
14Jennings,Rashad NYGWAS701001215014
Given how soft the Broncos defense has become versus the run and especially now that Von Miller is on the shelf, Rashad is someone you'll want to find space in your lineup for.
15Ellington,Andre ARISFO351001450014
His touches have increased and his speed will be a difference maker in this playoff atmosphere matchup.
16Baker,Edwin CLEPIT701001210014
Baker is getting a long look at a role for next year, here or elsewhere.
17Williams,DeAngelo CARATL700101215014
Since Jonathan Stewart (torn MCL) is not expected to play, Williams will continue to operate as Carolina’s featured tailback. Start him as a decent fantasy RB2 against an Atlanta defense that has struggled against opposing running backs all season. UPDATE 12/28: Jonathan Stewart (knee) officially has been ruled OUT for Week 17, which makes Williams a safer play.
18Blount,LeGarrette PITCLE70100115013
Another favorable match up against the Bills this week at home. The only issue with Blount is Ridley may eat into some of his carries.
19Lacy,Eddie GBPCHI650101315013
He is expected to play through injury, the return of Rodgers will limit his numbers a bit.
20Ivory,Chris NYJMIA70100115013
Ivory continues to share carries with Powell.
21Blount,LeGarrette PITCLE70100115013
Another favorable match up against the Bills this week at home. The only issue with Blount is Ridley may eat into some of his carries.
22Bernard,Giovani CINBAL501001220013
His touches are still limited, and the potential for a lemon is there, so there's risk in starting him but he can take it to the house every play.
23Davis,Knile KCCSDC551001215012
Apparently in line for an expanded workload this week.
24Miller,Lamar MIANYJ550011210012
Not the best of match up this week. Miami abandoned the running game as the whole offense struggled against the Bills last week.
25Asiata,Matt MINDET65010100012
Peterson is out, so he'll get another chance as the starer.
26Greene,Shonn TENHOU50100100011
Greene is coming off a season-best 19 carries for 91 yards and one touchdown against the Jaguars. Can he compile a fantasy friendly stat line two weeks in a row? The Titans likely will go run-heavy against a demoralized Texans defense, so Greene could hit pay dirt for the second straight week. However, you still should consider him a risky touchdown-dependent flex option.
27Jones-Drew,Maurice OAKDEN55000043008
Although Indianapolis ranks below average in fantasy points allowed to enemy running backs, the Colts have been playing a lot better during the last couple of weeks. Some doubt that Jones-Drew (hamstring) is 100 percent healthy, because he disappointed last week against what has been a soft Titans run defense. Consider MJD a weak play as a flex option. UPDATE 12/28: Jones-Drew (hamstring) took part in limited practices Thursday and Friday. He is listed as PROBABLE and is expected to start.
28Bush,Reggie DETMIN75000011008
Bell is digging into his playing time, but close to a hudred in total yards this week.
29Spiller,C.J. BUFNEP60000021007
Spiller only has 2 rushing touchdowns this season and has minimal fantasy value in his timeshare with Jackson.
30Grimes,Jonathan HOUTEN55000042007
UPDATE 12/28: Since Dennis Johnson (hip – QUESTIONABLE) likely will sit out Week 17 and Deji Karim (collarbone – Injured Reserve) has been lost for the season, Grimes is expected to get the start against a Titans defense that ranks near the bottom of the league in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. However, despite the favorable matchup, you should consider the 2012 undrafted free agent a desperation flex option at best.
31Richardson,Trent INDJAC45000043507
Consider the plodding Richardson a desperation flex play against a Jacksonville defense that yielded an average of 171 rushing yards and one total touchdown per contest to enemy running backs during the last two weeks.
32Woodhead,Danny SDCKCC30000054007
Only two noteworthy games among his last six, as far as non-PPR formats go.
33Powell,Bilal NYJMIA50000032507
While Powell is involved in the Jet's passing game he has only 1 rushing touchdown this season.
34Rainey,Bobby TBBNOS50000021006
During the last two weeks, the struggling Rainey scored once, but he amassed just 71 total yards while averaging an anemic 2.1 yards per carry. He is not a recommended fantasy starter against a Saints defense that ranks above average in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. By the way, New Orleans usually plays well at home.
35Rice,Ray BALCIN40000032006
A brutal season comes to a frustrating close.
36Thomas,Pierre NOSTBB35000053506
Thomas continues to disappoint. Since Week 13, he averaged 11 total touches and 37 total yards per game. Thomas also hasn’t scored since Week 10. Consider the ice-cold Thomas a weak play as a flex in a challenging matchup against a Buccaneers defense that ranks well above average in fantasy points allowed to enemy running backs. UPDATE 12/28: Thomas (eye) took part in full practices all week, and he is listed as PROBABLE for Week 17.
37Jackson,Steven ATLCAR55000021006
Atlanta’s featured runner scored six times in his last five games, but Jackson averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. The Panthers are very tough against the run, which is Jackson looks like a weak play as a flex option.
38Gore,Frank SFOARI5500001505
This Cardinal run defense is for real and Frank Gore is about to find out.
39Thomas,Daniel MIANYJ40000021005
Thomas missed practice earlier in the week, check his injury status later in the week if you dare to start him.
40Ingram,Mark NOSTBB30000011004
Don’t chase Ingram’s fantasy outing from last week (13 carries for 83 yards). He is a situational runner, and it was only the second time all season that Ingram amassed more than 35 rushing yards in a game. We don’t recommend Ingram as a fantasy starter against a Buccaneers defense that ranks above average in fantasy points allowed to enemy running backs.
41Vereen,Shane NEPBUF10000033004
Check his injury status prior to starting this week as he left last week's game with a groin injury.
42Ridley,Stevan NEPBUF4000001504
Ridley is working his way back into New England's running game. Upgrade him this week if Vereen is out of action.
43Ball,Montee DENOAK3000001503
May wind up getting enough touches to matter, but is that the sort of thing you want to count on?
44Green-Ellis,BenJarvus CINBAL3000000003
The Bengals have had more success since relying more heavily on the ground, but the Law Firm is just a quantity back that doesn't even get the goal line anymore.
45Reece,Marcel OAKDEN10000032503
Has minuscule fantasy value now that Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden are splitting reps as the primary ball carrier.
46Tolbert,Mike CARATL25000031503
Despite the absence of Jonathan Stewart (torn MCL) last week, Tolbert touched the ball just three times. In Week 15, he touched the ball 13 times. Tolbert’s inconsistent workload and touchdown-dependent fantasy status makes him way too risky to trust as a starter on your fantasy bowl team.
47Brown,Bryce PHIDAL3000000003
Don't expect the Eagles to get up as big as they did last week. Without being up by such a large margin, Brown's carries will be limited.
48Ogbonnaya,Chris CLEPIT15000032003
Ogbonnaya had his chance to etch out a meaningful role, but fumbled it away.
49Todman,Jordan JACIND20000021003
With Maurice Jones-Drew (hamstring) starting again, the speedy Todman, unfortunately, has been relegated to a change-of-pace role. He won’t receive enough touches to fantasy relevant this week.
50Pierce,Bernard BALCIN3000000003
The backup behind a shoddy line? Pass.
51McFadden,Darren OAKDEN3000001503
Scored a rushing touchdown in his return to live action, a week ago, but don't expect lightning to strike twice.
52Brown,Ronnie SDCKCC2000001502
As heavily as San Diego is favored, you have to think Ronnie will get more touches if & when his team rockets out to a comfortable lead.
53Starks,James GBPCHI2500000002
Despite the spike in carries last week, Starks will be the backup to Lacy.
54Banyard,Joe MINDET2500000002
He'll be the backup this week, some runs as change of pace.
55Graham,Ray HOUTEN2000001502
UPDATE 12/28: Since Deji Karim (collarbone – Injured Reserve) has been lost for the season and Dennis Johnson (hip – QUESTIONABLE) likely will sit out Week 17, undrafted rookie free-agent Graham will operate as the backup to fill-in starter Jonathan Grimes. Since Grimes is expected to receive the bulk of the Houston backfield touches, Graham should not be on your fantasy radar.
56Turbin,Robert SEASTL2500000002
He's proven to be a great complement to Marshawn Lynch's running style in this offense.
57Hunter,Kendall SFOARI1500000001
The lack of running game success will limit his touches.
58Gray,Cyrus KCCSDC1000000001
The backup to Knile Davis, with Jamaal Charles inactive.
59Cunningham,Benny STLSEA1000000001
Very little chance of him making an impact on this game.
