WR Greg Jennings

This Year's Analysis History

Prior Year's Analysis History
fungalreason

Positives
#1 Receiver on high powered offense Aaron Rodgers will find ways to get him the rock

Negatives
Finely, Grant back in the offense, so Green Bay won't need to lean on Jennings as much. However, this may mean Finley gets doubled teamed instead, so perhaps this is a positive as well. Many mouths to feed in Green Bay, and Rodgers is great at sharing the love

Draft Strategy
As predicted 2 of my 5 hopefuls were selected next, so the run on receivers is in full swing. Out of Jennings, Miles Austin, Bowe, Marshall, and Welker, I'm happy with my choice. Should have a solid 1 + 2 receiving core, so I can now focus on getting RB depth.

Phyrre56

Positives
Consistent performer. Great offense returning everybody (including guys who were injured last year). Top Tier QB. He feels older but he's only 27.

Negatives
2009 was a down year but 2010 was right back on track. There are a lot of receiving threats in GB. However, Jennings is still the clear #1.

Draft Strategy
Nothing fancy here. Just taking a #1 WR that fell slightly to this spot.

Agenda42

Positives
#1 WR on an explosive passing team. Excellent track record of production, with 70-1150-9 average over four years. No real concerns about age or injury.

Negatives
Lots and lots of targets in Green Bay. Finley returning likely means less targets for Jennings. Not the most consistent point producer at the position, more of a feast or famine guy.

Draft Strategy
I'm not in love with Jennings as my #1 WR but you can't be strong at every position. Taking one of the elite QBs can make sense in other formats, but in shark scoring the position is less valuable than it typically is.

Scoefield

Positives
WR#1 on a pass-happy squad. GB should be battling with MIN all season for the division crown and/or wild card slot, so should be still trying at fantasy playoff time.

Negatives
Lambeau weather late in season can wreak havoc on passing games at a critical time. Is Driver still able to draw enough coverage to let him get open?

Draft Strategy
Missed out on the upper tier WRs, but happy to still get Jennings here. Picked up Grant at 2.12, and I'm a little concerned about that strategy, but I couldn't pass either with their value. I recognize I've limited my upside a bit, but I've also reduced some of my risk with this move - and that's not a bad thing with early round picks.

abishagenaden

Positives
Undisputed #1 in GB again. He's done it before and he can do it again. If Rodgers is the #1 projected fantasy QB, then think about who he's throwing it to.

Negatives
Rodgers can sometimes spread it around.

Draft Strategy

Michael

Positives
A young #1 WR who gets the ball thrown his way by what most people say is the #1 fantasy QB sounds like a good deal at 2.08 to me. Relatively healthy player.

Negatives
More of a deep threat than a possession WR. May not be a 100 reception guy but will put up the yards. Could use some more TD's.

Draft Strategy
With DWill and Jamaal Charles going right before my spot there was little doubt I should be grabbing Jennings for what I hope will be his career year. With him and AJ in the fold I am in good shape at WR.

feral

Positives
Great speed. Pass-oriented offense (who are your top 2 QBs?).Even with an off-year in 2009 (only 4 TDs) still got 72 receps and 1150 yars. With a few more TDs this year should be a top 5 WR.

Negatives
A little smallish. Need better protection from the o-line this year to give Rodgers more chances to hit him deep.

Draft Strategy
Really wanted Moss, but he went one pick earlier. Greg has a lot of upside to be a top WR this year. Didn't really like any RB options at this pint.

Faraim

Positives
The #1 wr on one of the most balanced, prolific offenses in the nfl. I think his floor is 1300-8 with the potential of much higher #'s.

Negatives
There are many offensive weapons on the packers which could see his week-to-week numbers be less consistent than I'd like.

Draft Strategy
I was looking for a top wr to solidify my core and Jennings fits the bill nicely. I considered Brandon Jacobs at this spot, but felt I could get nice value at rb2 in the next round whereas the dropoff at wr1 was too large to ignore.

FantasyHussy

Positives
Improving, young WR who averaged a TD nearly every 4 catches last season. Tremendous YAC ability. Seems to be taking over for Donald Driver as Green Bay's new #1. Division schedule is juicy.

Negatives
Losing Favre hurts. For now. Regardless of whether or not Rodgers is half as good, Jennings should still see more balls as he continues to assert himself. His TDs and YPC will take a hit, though.

Draft Strategy
I decided against filling out other starting positions at the 5/6 turn thanks to the value I saw at RB/WR on the board. Jennings is a good buy here, with potential to be a consistent WR2. With my crappy draft spot, I have to take chances on upside guys, and Jennings is one of my favorites. At the very least, he'll have to fill in for the one week Wayne/Megatron are on bye.

GUESS_WHOM

Positives
Jennings had 12 touchdowns last year. He is a big-play threat every time he touches the ball. Donald Driver is getting older and Jennings is becoming the No. 1 receiver for the Packers. He has good size, speed, and the athleticism to make plays. Jennings is one of the top deep threats in all of football.

Negatives
Jennings missed a few games last year with a hamstring injury.

Draft Strategy
Pick 5.11 Drafted my # 2 Receiver here. Jennings will top 1,000 yards and score double-digit touchdowns. He should be a No. 1 receiver this year.

tlandavazo

Positives
Big time receiver; should be gone before now.

Negatives
Will Aaron Rodgers keep him productive?

Draft Strategy

und2006

Positives
A lot of people are down on him saying Rodgers doesnt have the connection with him, it'll come and Ill laugh all the way to the bank when I just stole a WR1 in the 5th.

Negatives

Draft Strategy
I really wanted Selvin Young here as I hadnt secured a RB3 yet, and would have liked to... but I wasnt going to reach for the next RB on my list and went with what I felt was a good value in Jennings.

checo446

Positives
Emerging player with a great QB throwing him the ball.

Negatives
Still young.

Draft Strategy
I needed another backup WR and Jennings is a solid addition to the team. He likely won't be needed to do anything but spot start unless Housh or AJ get hurt.

TeamFodder

Positives
I waited a long long time for my wr3... and am very happy to have Greg on board. I think he'll be great this year.

Negatives
Injury-prone... young.

Draft Strategy
I finally see the need to take a wr3. I am glad i waited as i think he'll be a great 3rd wr backing up my elite first two.

mf

Positives
A young receiver, should improve this season. Favre likes the throw the ball and Jennings will get his share of plays. If Driver is slowed by age (32 years old) or his sore shoulder Jennings could benefit.

Negatives
Donald Driver is Favre's favorite receiver, so Jennings will get the leftovers. Didn't do much at the end of last season.

Draft Strategy
He was drafted as my WR3. I waited a bit long to get my 3rd WR and there weren't any sure things left on the board. Other WRs available were guys like Berrian, Hackett, and Stallworth. But Berrian and Hackett had the same bye weeks as my WR1 & WR2, and Stallworth's injury problems worry me.
