The Prognosticator - Week 9
Tony Holm, "The Prognosticator"
Nov 5, 2004
It sounds like neither uber receiver Randy Moss nor new found squirt back Mewelde Moore will go this weekend which opens up the door for all us Michael Bennett and Onterrio Smith owners.  Watch the news wire closely as not even I, the great prognosticator (hee!), has a clue how Mike Tice is about to mess this one up...

Week 9
Ron Anish, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 3, 2004

Many big games last week to wet the fantasy football owner's appetite. Hopefully, you had one of the Plummer-Rod Smith connection or any Colt or Chief in your starting lineup. Perhaps Drew Brees or Shaun Alexander made their way into your starting lineup or maybe you took a chance on Mr. Vick? If so, congrats on your win. If not, here's your chance to find this week's stud as the stats will continue to flow in week nine except for your Falcons, Packers, Jaguars and Titans who will be watching the games from home.

Brian Westbrook was shown no love in the week 7 voting.  Even though his stats have barely kept him in the top 20 of all RBS, his value was evident to the Eagles this past week.

Section 209, in the Last Row of the Linc, that's the vantage point your intrepid, angry reporters watched the Eagles squeeze by the Ravens in a defensive battle. The day was beautiful with a few clouds and it was very warm. Halloween at the Linc brought out a few people in costumes, most with the same penal theme. As the Eagles get ready for a showdown with the Steelers, we remember and look back in anger.

Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups
Glenn Anderson, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 1, 2004

Good golly, it's week 9 already? It doesn't seem so long ago that I was giddy waiting for the season opener! So much as changed since then. If you want to laugh, look at your preseason draft. Who got Tiki Barber when he slipped to the 4th? Who laughed at the guy who picked Testaverde in the last round? Who's this Antonio Gates guy anyhow? And who blew their top pick on Ricky Williams in an early draft? You poor Ricky owners have been getting waxed this season I'm sure...unless of course you've been reading the Waiver Wire column all year! And speaking of the column...lets go!!

Full focus is returning back to football, though I just want to mention this one last time: The Boston Red Sox are World Series Champions!! The celebration parade on Saturday was a fitting end to a glorious season. And if the Sox can finally win the series, perhaps that silly thing about the Redskins and their final home game before the Presidential election can be broken as well.

Week 10

The Prognosticator - Week 10
Tony Holm, "The Prognosticator"
Nov 12, 2004
Dissertation time.  I have on occasion raked Brian Billick through the coals in this rag.  Most of the time for good reason!  But it struck me last week that the Ravens managed to do something brilliant and Brian Billick just may have had a hand in it.  This could be the first sign of the apocalypse but I actually think it's the beginning of a positive trend and just a glimmer that the Ravens are on the way back to being one of the elite teams in the NFL...

Week nine just went by.  I am freezing my posterior … in Zurich.  There is no American Football to be found anywhere in this country.  I cannot watch football until next week.  And overall, it has become a battle to maintain teams and articles.

Tank TV - Week 10 Games to Watch
Ben Ice, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 12, 2004

This is the last week of byes. Beginning next week the NFL ratchets up a full schedule of games as the time to think about the playoffs is here. Teams like New Orleans, Carolina, Kansas City and Tennessee are outside looking into the playoff window while surprises like San Diego and a suddenly Pro Bowl Caliber Drew Brees join a young and hungry Houston and a surprising Atlanta Falcons team as the front runners for playoff spots halfway through the season.

Week 10 Sleepers
Adam Wain, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 12, 2004
The byes are coming to an end and the playoff push is in full force for fantasy football teams.  The next couple weeks will be key in either making the playoffs or positioning yourself for a possible bye week. Either way I will do my best to help you out with the best sleeper plays of the week as well as rate each of these sleepers on what I expect their production to be the rest of the year.  I will give them stars 1-5 with 5 being a must pickup/play because consistent production is inevitable.

As it happens a lot in this competition, the player who gets voted out comes on strong the next week.  That was the case this week as well.  Clinton Portis was your choice to be eliminated with 51% of the votes.  In week 9 against the Lions he pounded the ball 34 times and gained 147 YDs for 21 fantasy points.  At least it was fitting that a Washington Redskin be eliminated during election week.

Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups
Glenn Anderson, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 8, 2004

Wow, it's Week 10! The first double-digit week, and thankfully, the last of the NFL bye weeks. Hopefully you're still in the running for your league title, but if not, maybe you can be a giant-killer and still get to talk to smack during the offseason to the team that whooped everyone...except you! Think about dealing depth for better starters, and get ready for that all-important stretch run. And of course...check out this weeks hot waiver wire picks!

Week Nine in Review
Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 8, 2004
Week Nine is almost in the books, and it looks like another season will pass without any team running the table. Perhaps now we can get down to the business of playing football and not worrying about streaks and the like.  The Chargers continue their offensive roll, the Patriots get back into the winning column, the Giants lay another home egg, the Bills circle the wagons...week nine in the NFL!

Week 11

The Prognosticator - Week 11

A lot went wrong with the Giants.  The loss of Michael Strahan and now the switch to Eli Manning but none of it is Kurt Warner's fault.  If the Giants read The Progno they'd realize that they weren't supposed to win those games in the first place...

Sleeper Plays & Statistical Breakdown
Adam Wain, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 19, 2004
I will continue this week with my weekly sleeper plays as well as rate each player on how valuable I believe they will be the rest of this 2004 season.  Again 5 stars being very valuable and a virtual must start each week.  I will also list the top and bottom run and pass defenses in the NFL so you can better gauge whom to start and sit rather than continue those sleepless nights.  My philosophy is “When in doubt go with the better matchup”.  Obviously this doesn’t apply to the fantasy studs and you all know who they are.

Bye weeks are over, so no more excuses! It's put up or shut up time with only 3-4 weeks left in your regular season. Time to put the pedal to the metal and see what your fantasy squad can do. May your team floor past the opposition and end up in the winner's circle instead of pit row.

Week 10
Greg Allen, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 17, 2004
With the performance Derrick Blaylock gave this weekend you have to give serious consideration to the fantasy star in Kansas City being the offensive line and not Priest Holmes.  The Chief’s running attack didn’t miss a beat with Blaylock at the helm as he rushed for 186 YDs and 1 TD leading all Runningbacks this week in fantasy scoring.

Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups
Glenn Anderson, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 16, 2004

With the dreaded NFL bye-weeks having come to a close this past weekend, one hopefully isn't scrambling for a spot starter as often as was the case over the past month or two. But alas, this is no rest for the wicked...it's the stretch-run baby! *Never* stop looking for players that can help your team, no matter how solid your roster may look...you may only be an ankle or knee away from having to plug one (or three) of these guys into your lineup. Week 11
Jason Brichta, Fantasy Football Staff Writer

A great rivalry was renewed on Monday night as the Eagles traveled to Texas Stadium to meet the Cowboys. Many people gave Dallas a good chance to beat the Eagles, but I think the Eagles came in with something to prove. They left Pittsburgh last week beaten badly, and doubt started to creep in about them being as good as their record.

Week Ten in Review

Week ten is nearly in the books and things are really starting to heat up in the NFL. Division battles, key wildcard battles, and a trifecta of overtime games dot the landscape this week. Some pre-game war of words turned into a brawl before one game as William Green went "Robbie Alomar"...

Week 12...it's crunch time baby! With only two or three more games remaining in the regular season of most leagues, there's a good chance that you're either established your team as an intergalactic force or interstate roadkill by now.
