For you history buffs, we will archive every article penned by the Shark Team in 2005. As each week is finished, we will move the content to this page so you can reminisce about the good old days ... like week 1.
If you choose to draft Michael Vick for your fantasy team, understand one thing right up front - you are not really drafting a QB. You are drafting the 2nd RB in a RBBC system, plus a few passing yards.
Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. There are a handful of new starters in the NFL, we talked about what the fantasy impact of these moves might be...
The Brutus Report Jim "Dominion" St. Onge, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 6, 2005
Week 4 woes got you down?Been betrayed by your favorite fantasy player one too many times?Still got that knife sticking out of the gaping wound in your back?Well you’re not alone my fantasy brethren.
Fight On State! Betbot, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 6, 2005
We finally learn about the BetBot's college years as he gives some advice to Kevin Jones about how to fix his season. Also, more deeper sleeper picks and the real cause behind a troublesome medical condition.
There's lots of big names on a bye this week. There's at least one of the top four point producers in each of the skill positions (QB, RB, WR, TE) sitting this week out. Get creative this week with your reserves and use your depth to your advantage.
The Saints have long enjoyed a legacy of losing ways and fans with bags on their heads. The future of the team may be no different, but at least they had a crowd this week that made them feel at home.
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Young grasshopper, wise man once say...best waiver wire picks are not only those new to the village, but also those who are old friends long forgotten. Come in and receive further enlightenment, my student. Hi-Ya!!!

Week Four in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Oct 3, 2005
Week four is in the books...hope your opponent didn't have a guy like Neil Rackers going wild against you. I hate losing when the other guy's kicker is their star.
The Vikings sure aren’t impressing anyone quickly. Ownership has given Mike Tice a vote of confidence and I can only assume from that gesture, Tice has pictures...

Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. Injuries are shuffling starting lineups, we talked about what the fantasy impact of these moves might be...good news, with baseball out of the way, we're back in "Block C"!
What's that? You want to know who is starting at running back? Sure, so do I. But most of us have been playing fantasy football long enough to know that Mike Shanahan doesn't reveal his starting RB plans from week to week.

My condolences to those Deuce McAllister and Najeh Davenport owners. Happy hunting. We hit on the Arizona QB/WR connection last week. Check out which passing combo is recommended in week six.

Four weeks of pain and frustration came to an end for Brett Favre and the Packers on Sunday at Lambeau. Then again, it’s not like they beat the Patriots or something.
Week Five In Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Oct 11, 2005
A downer of a weekend in New England...and no I'm not talking about the Sox being eliminated. For the first time in 28 years, a Columbus Day weekend goes by without a feast on Federal Hill.
Contest results for week 5 are now available. Nuclear29 and sidewinder had the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. bokeefe is the overall leader. Bambimaster posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. gridiron gladiator maintains the overall lead. Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. Lots of members with S$8900. They keep betting it all! Even those of us that have picked a loser can still compete. It's the member with the most sand dollars that wins!
The Giants are favored in this? Really? The Broncos will run all day long and run well. Both Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell will have decent numbers. When things get stingy on the ground the Broncos will be able to make completions up top, in particular to Rod Smith...
OK, Another rough week for Vinnie. The Giants played with heart, and covered against the Cowboys. Unfortunately, Randy Moss got hurt, and that hurt our chances with the Raiders.
Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. Injuries continue to shuffle starting lineups, but some players are on their way back. We talked about what the fantasy impact of these moves might be.
Bye Week Bonanza The Sin City BetBot 6000, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 21, 2005
Most of the suggested players are on a bye this week, which is OK because the short Miami-KC game probably pushed your waiver deadline up anyway. Not that the BetBot cares.
The Virgin is on vacation this week.Yes, this time I will be far, far, away from a computer.Unlike writing articles from Switzerland, this is going to require some thought.
The Seadog Report Doug Gaskell, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 21, 2005

According to news reports, the Kansas City Chiefs vs Miami Dolphins game has been moved to Friday night due to the potential of hurricane Wilma hitting Floriday on Sunday.
A trio of RBs continued to prove they belong on the Studs list last week as LT2, Alexander and Edge all dominated. Despite the recent injuries, there's plenty of RBs out there to fill your needs if you weren't one of the lucky ones to get one of the big three.
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Do you often dream that LT2 or Shaun Alexander is on the waiver wire and you have the first choice? If so, I advise you to seek immediate counseling. Or alternatively, join a free Yahoo league where most teams have been abandoned and this is actually a realistic scenario. But I digress...for the rest of you, we present our hot waiver-wire pickups for week 7!!!
Contest results for week 6 are now available. shavlor had the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. bokeefe is the overall leader. 5XChamps posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. gridiron gladiator maintains the overall lead. Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. Lots of members with S$18,400. They keep betting it all! Even those of us that have picked a loser can still compete. The Texans were supposed to be the heir apparent to the Houston Oilers, which departed for Tennessee in 1999. Well, they succinctly met all the low expectations, and then some.
Week Six in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Oct 17, 2005
The game time decision continues to be a problem...Dillon, no go. Thomas Jones, go. Horn, go but no stats. What's a fantasy owner to do? If you were up against Tomlinson or Alexander this week, it didn't matter what you did....
The Panthers can look anywhere from great to average on any given Sunday, though one thing they have proven is that they are always in the thick of the game until the final bell sounds. Rrrrrrooooowwwwwww!! Do they still have that pathetic Rrrrrrrooooooowwwwww!! sound at their home games?
Not a bad week last week, BUT it could have been much better if the Packers had been able to beat the Vikings in the second half too.In any case, we’re moving in the right direction.
If the Giants go on to a deep playoff run this season, last week's win against the Broncos will be looked upon as a turning point in their season and something of a coming-out party for soon-to-be elite quarterback Eli Manning.
Rex in Effex The Sin City BetBot 6000, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 28, 2005
The BetBot covers the latest deeper sleeper picks with his usual assortment of potentially fabricated anecdotes.
Last night, Ed Berliner once again opened up Comcast Cable's CN8 studio for Doug Coutts and the sharks to talk fantasy football on the Sports Pulse. It's just about midway thru the fantasy season, we talked about some strategies to get you into the playoffs.
The Virgin came back from vacation even steven. What is even steven?Well I will tell you what that is.
The Seadog Report Doug Gaskell, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 28, 2005
This past week was the week of the Defensive Linemen. DL’s seemed to dominate in IDP leagues more than usual. Don't count on that trend to continue.
The Last Row Chris Dolfi and Tom Walls, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 28, 2005
Irish pubs, Paul Simon, Viking "pleasure" cruises, blood-squirting toads, and one of the most memerable endings to an Eagles game in franchise history - it's all in here folks.

The Brutus Report Jim "Dominion" St. Onge, Fantasy Football Staff Writer Oct 27, 2005
Look for a couple surprises and some "old" names making their return to the Start/Bench list this week. Fantasy owners need to think like closers in baseball: with short-term memory loss. Don't let a grudge prevent you from capitalizing on solid matchups.
Parity is taking over the NFL as we approach the mid point of the season. The Colts and the Texans have clearly claimed the top and bottom spots in the rankings, but the other 30, that's were it gets tough.
The Pick 'Em, Swim and Survivor Contests are ready. If you have any questions about these contests please update the Contests Are Ready topic in the Main Tank. Good Luck!
Ahman Green...Steve McNair...Marc Bulger...Isaac Bruce...Robert Ferguson...Torry Holt...Joe Horn. Must I go on? With a Pro-Bowl caliber team missing time with injury this week, combined with the heart of the dreaded bye-week, lots of teams out there are digging deep when picking starters. But fear not...there's plenty of help on the waiver wire this week! Let's go!
This week was probably the most exciting of the season, with five games being decided by three points or less. The sweetest one involved a Manning, but it wasn’t the one you thought of first.
Contest results for week 7 are now available. Davlar8 had the best record in the Pick 'Em Contest. JT_the_BRICK is the overall leader. ProfessorI| posted the highest score in the Swim Contest. BIGDOGDCH maintains the overall lead. Here are the results for the Survivor Contest. Lots of members with S$37,500. They keep betting it all!
Closing out week seven we are half way through the fantasy football regular season, which means it is time to be honest with yourself about your team.
Week Seven in Review Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer Oct 24, 2005
A couple incredible comebacks in the late Sunday games capped off a good slate of games this week...a few of the fantasy studs got into the endzone multiple times, hopefully you had more of those players than your opponent as we reach the halfway point in the fantasy season.
