With NE v Indy fever affecting football fans everywhere, you might think we wouldn’t bother looking at any other games this weekend.   But the guys buck conventional thinking, and run down just what is good about all of the other THIRTEEN games this week, in a special edition of ‘Games to Watch’.   Oh yea, they also manage to briefly ridicule mustard yellow and sports-writers obsessed with HS field hockey.   (Note to PETA supporters: No animals were harmed in the writing of this column.)

Week nine marks the halfway point for most NFL teams as the majority of teams have taken their bye. By now there is enough data and games played to really track the players that are doing well, starting to pick up their play and the ones which are disappointing.

We survived the Redskins narrow, comeback victory over the Jets in Week 9. Now that the season is growing older, there are less teams to choose from and the games get harder to pick. However, there are actually a few options in Week 10. Read here to find out who to pick!

This week the guys recover from the draining media blitz on ‘Superbowl 41.5’ last weekend, and pick out 3 great contests from a division-rivalry-laden slate. They also manage to cook up a recipe for spite soufflé, order out to Primanti Brother’s, and eat a slice of humble pie – all while suffering a 1984 flashback that smacks of ice, OJ, and wieners. (We try not to get in their way – especially when they’re armed with silverware.)

And the Pats are Superbowl 41 ½ World Champions… Anyway, glad that’s over. Tom Brady and Randy Moss showed that they are the number one combination in the league. The Patriots overcame a 20-10 deficit with just 8 minutes to go in the game. Brady threw for 255 yards, 3 TD’s, and 2 INT’s. Randy Moss caught 9 balls for 145 yards and a TD. Wes Welker also caught a TD pass, but Kevin Faulk had the most significant one. Faulk caught a game-winning 13 yard pass from Brady in the final minutes.

I don’t know why, but things seem to really be heating up in IDP-land lately. Maybe it’s just because a lot of my guys have been producing for me…finally. Or perhaps it’s just because it’s the final push for playoff run for a lot of us. Whatever the reason, it certainly can be a lot of fun this time of year.

The guys bring us this Thanksgiving version of the ‘Games to Watch’ two days early this week, to make sure you’re ready to celebrate Turkey Day in front of the TV, like all real football fans do. They also give thanks for a variety of things on this earth, such as Irish beer, leftover turkey sandwiches, Angie Harmon, and extra gravy… oh, and football – most definitely football.
