The Prognosticator - Week 5
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator
Oct 8, 2011 |

I didn't think the passing of Steve Jobs would affect me in any real way. It was a little sudden but the writing had been on the wall for some time with his weight loss and known health battles. I never knew the man personally so I would have guessed it would have been just another news story to me. Instead, it brought me back to the epoch of the modern computer and made me think back to those days of continuous struggle for Apple, their brand, how they positioned themselves, the neat little inventions Steve Jobs and co. created for the world and their unwavering fortitude to stick with it.

This week the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams and the Washington Redskins are off. You're now faced with trying to fill in your roster as well as trying to replace players that are injured. If you read my article last week then hopefully you took my advice and made some moves to fill those holes before this week's waiver request. |

Then there were the breakout players like Ryan Torain, who went off after not seeing the field for the Washington Redskins in their first three games. It’s just another crazy week in the world of fantasy football. Now let’s look at some hot waiver wire targets for this week and whether you should go after them or take a pass. |

The Prognosticator - Week 6
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator
Oct 14, 2011 |

 |
Don't look now but the Redskins are 1st in the NFC East and the Eagles are last. This is a tough game for the Eagles. On the road, against a division rival that has done nothing but win, with doubt creeping into the Eagles psyche. Yes the Eagles will play hard and yes, they'll play well. But the Redskins have a swagger about them and the competition Mike Shanahan has created between his three runningbacks will push the Redskins over the Eagles.

Survivor Pool Analysis - Week 6
Nick Pagliuca, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Oct 13, 2011 |

| Well, it appears that the Giants will be the survivor killer of 2011 with their loss in the final minutes against Seattle at home. If you are still alive, you are probably in good shape with the amount of people that were eliminated this weekend. Check out Week 6’s game-by-game analysis, which includes another six teams on a bye. This is a week where I do not expect too many upsets because all but one home team is favored this week. Therefore, there are several good options this weekend. |

What Did We Learn - Week 5 Edition
Drew Magyar, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Oct 11, 2011 |

| This week saw some players and teams put up big numbers, while others fell flat. It also saw the loss of a legend. If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve watched a segment on television or read an article over the past few days about how much Al Davis meant to the NFL. While some of his decisions in recent years may have been questionable, his legacy with the league is beyond question. Without him, the NFL as we know it today probably doesn’t exist. Thanks, Al. The Prognosticator - Week 7
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator
Oct 21, 2011 |

I think people under estimate how truly poor the Packers secondary has played. You'd never know it with Aaron Rodgers and friends scoring at will but it's a much bigger hole for the Packers than many want to admit. I know this is going to sound so ridiculous that whatever your favorite beverage you're currently consuming is about to come out your nose (fair warning) but Christian Ponder is going to pick the Packers apart and Adrian Peterson will run through them. I'll give you a moment to clean up.

| OK, I’ll freely admit that Week 6 was not exactly the best work I’ve ever done, but every once in a while you just have a bumpy week, so I stand before you yet again, beaten but unbowed, ready to make my recommendations for this week. Remember, this is the third of the bye weeks and it’s leaving a heckuva hole, so don’t go starting any players from the Giants, Eagles, Bills, Patriots, Bengals, or 49ers. No Jason Pierre-Paul, no Patrick Willis, no George Wilson…like I said, HOLE. |

| Lots of big names on teams with a bye this week (Buffalo, Cincinnati, New York Giants, Philadelphia, San Francisco, New England), so you may need to dig a little to find those fantasy points. Tampa Bay and Chicago will rival New Orleans and Indianapolis in passing yards as all teams should post big numbers in the air while Oakland, Atlanta and Pittsburgh will keep it on the ground and have plenty of success doing so. |

Waiver Wire Wonders
Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Oct 20, 2011 |
 |
 |
| We finally have an NFL trading deadline where some major deals have been made that will have an immediate impact on the fantasy community! The Broncos moved one of last season's top pass catchers and the Raiders made a bold move to keep their season going in a positive direction by trading for a "retired" quarterback. Some running backs are hurting, so we examine their backups. As usual, a slew of wideouts get a mention this week and we top off this week with a tight end that is worth a look. Plenty for everyone in this week's version. |

Drew Magyar, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Oct 18, 2011 |

 |
| Week 6 featured several top players returning to their old ways, as teams remembered where their bread is really buttered. But it also provided a few performances from young, upcoming talent. And we’ve even got a relevant trade. |

| Now that injuries are mounting up and we’re in the middle of seven straight bye weeks, shrewd waiver wire moves are as important as ever. While injuries can’t be avoided, picking up and passing on the right waiver wire candidates certainly can help get your team back on the right track. Wiith guys like Felix Jones going down and Brandon Lloyd being traded, here’s my take on the players who’ll be the hot waiver wire targets this week. |

| This week is about finding the end zone, or shall I say about how to not find the end zone? This is supposedly happening more and more regularly in the NFL, but there are strange sequences occurring. |

| Another round of games means more ranking changes moving forward. Each and every week players slip and fall while others rise to the occasion. Week 8 offers 13 games of NFL competition offering us 13 specific player value movements. Week 8 is the midway point of the season. With that in mind you’ll notice that the majority of these players have been disappointments and have run out of rope to work with. They need to prove their worth here or hit the bricks. |

| Welcome to Week 8 edition of the Brew Crew Corner. There are three things you can count on when you reach Week 8 of the NFL season. 1) Another week of teams off on the bye; 2) Halloween is around the corner; and 3) We are at the midseason of the fantasy season. The season always flies by. We’ve completed seven weeks of fantasy games, which is the midway point. Now is a good time to start looking at teams with favorable matchups during the fantasy playoffs. |

| Tim Hightower and Earnest Graham both bit the dust last week and sustained injuries that ended their seasons. While most scour the waiver wire for the next potential replacement, there is something to be said for folks who look at every possible option. Audibles Week 8 examines who you should be looking at to replace the "Departed" rock toters and why. |

IDP STUDS AND DUDS: Week 8

| Well, I decided that rather than go back and critique myself over last week’s recommendations I’d just brain myself with a bat (which accomplishes roughly the same thing), and now that I’ve regained consciousness it’s time for a one-eyed look at Week 8. Remember, this is the fourth of the bye weeks, so if you roll out any players from the Falcons, Bears, Packers, Jets, Raiders, or Buccaneers I’m guessing you’ll probably be pretty disappointed by the results. |

| Those road games are always tricky, and the Jacksonville Jaguars came out to play on Monday night at home. Although it was more of the fact that the Baltimore Ravens
didn’t come out to play, but those are the risks you take with road teams. Six more teams on a bye in Week 8. Check out the full game-by-game analysis. |

| A lot to get through this week as several starting running backs either went down, were already down, or limped off the field this past weekend. With last week’s top picks DeMarco Murray, Knowshon Moreno and Tim Tebow likely already gone, we look deeper to find some help for this week. |

| Running backs stole the show last week. I know Drew Brees threw like 17 touchdowns, but Arian Foster and DeMarco Murray were simply unstoppable. There are some big time running backs on a bye this week as the Falcons, Bears, Packers, Jets, Raiders, and Buccaneers will watch this week's action from the comforts of their own homes. Look for the passing games to be the story this week as the ground attack gives way to the aerial show. |

| We’re at the halfway mark of the 2011 fantasy football season, and while this week continues our journey into the barrens of the byes it also brings with it an IDP reunion of sorts, with such stars as Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Cole, defensive end Justin Tuck of the New York Giants, and New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo set to return to action after suffering various injuries earlier in the season. To help you prepare for this week’s action here’s a look at my Top 30 defensive linemen, linebackers, and defensive backs for Week Eight of the 2011 season in IDP leagues. |

IDP Waiver Wire: Week 8
Gary Davenport, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Oct 25, 2011 |

 |
| It’s the hallway point of the regular season in fantasy football, and not only did we duck any huge IDP injuries in Week 7, but the upcoming week should mark the return of such IDP luminaries as Philadelphia Eagles' defensive end Trent Cole, and some Individual Defensive Players who got off to slow starts and may have been cut loose are showing some signs of life and sitting on waiver wires, ready to be plucked. With that in mind here are some players that should be available on many IDP waiver wires that are worth targeting as we head into Week 8. |

| There’s already been a mountain of injuries throughout the NFL season but Week 7 was a killer for fantasy owners. We had the last second scratches (Marshawn Lynch), the guys who played a couple of snaps before leaving for the rest of the game (Darren McFadden, Joseph Addai, Beanie Wells, Santana Moss) and the players who were in and out with nagging injuries (Ryan Mathews). All and all it was a crazy Sunday for fantasy owners. With the injuries mounting and bye weeks in full force, let’s take a look at the top waiver wire targets for this week and whether or not you should pursue them. |
