Survivor Pool Analysis - Week 9
Nick Pagliuca, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 4, 2011 |
 |
 |
| There were a few scares last week, but most of the teams escaped with victories, including my top two picks in the New York Giants and Baltimore Ravens. Readers questioned why the New Orleans Saints were not a higher choice last week and you saw why on Sunday. You can never trust the road teams as upsets tend to occur more often with home underdogs. Check out the Week 9 game-by-game analysis … |

All Good Things Must End
The Sin City BetBot 6000, FantasySharks.com
Nov 4, 2011 |

| A sad break-up, a maniacal twitter feed, and Peyton Manning's neck nerves: all instruments the BetBot uses to determine how many yards Orson Welles' corpse could rack up on the Dallas Cowboys defense. It's more than you think. Also, hot news on the Arizona Cardinals. |

Week 9: The Ugly Side of Fantasy
Walter Collazo, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 4, 2011 |

 |
| Welcome to the Week 9 edition of the Brew Crew Corner. Last week we reached the fantasy mid-season and looked at the top players through seven weeks. Now that Halloween is over we can look at another horror in the making and that is the players that we expected to be tops in the league but have disappointed so far this season. |

Waiver Wire Wonders
Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 4, 2011 |
 |
 |
| A light group of waiver wire candidates this week. It’s so light that we’re forced to ditch the usual format. We do talk about several players, giving you enough information to decide if the player is worth considering for your roster. This list was put together while wondering which of the following two true statements would have been more laughable if made two months ago: “Chris Johnson will not be the most productive running back on his team on Nov. 1,” or “Trick-or-treating will be postponed because of snow.” |

The Prognosticator - Week 9
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator
Nov 4, 2011 |
 |
 |
I know for me, when I'm in a competitive situation and I get blown out, whomever we're playing the following week needs to strap on an extra helmet because I'm bringing it. I know how the Saints felt this week, the extra doubters in the press, the puzzled questions, the beat down talk, expect the Saints to deliver a bag of whoop butt, special delivery. The Saints will light up the Bucs defense after their abysmal showing last week. Drew Brees will be white hot, hitting whatever, whenever.

Future of Fantasy Football: End of the Stud Receiver Era
Ed Bonfanti, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 2, 2011 |
 |
 |
| With the NFL becoming a passing league, you'd think that elite receivers would be putting up better numbers but that is not the case. In fact, if you don't have one of the Top 4 receivers in fantasy (Wes, Calvin, Wallace and Steve Smith), I'm recommending you trade them. |

| We’re now halfway through the NFL season, which means shockers and upsets will become the norm and fantasy owners will be left wondering how Drew Brees can have his worst day of the year against a team that was signing cornerbacks off the street. As a Brees owner myself, it was maddening. Now let’s take a look at some waiver wire targets this week and whether or not you should waste your time going after them. |

Playoff Push
Keith Jordan, Fantasy Football Staff Writer

| Everyone knows that injuries are an expected part of football and consequently fantasy football, but nothing will drive fantasy owners crazy quicker than inconsistent player performances. Tony Holm, The Prognosticator

And Tebow mania ensues. A win and he was in, a loss, and the Broncos quite probably would have turned to Brady Quinn. Yikes. Now the Broncos are going even deeper into the college playbook and trying things that have never been tried in the NFL. If nothing else, it's an interesting experiment that I know I'll be watching, as it's fun to see just how the Broncos game plan and what they'll pull out of their magic hat next.

Gary Davenport, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 8, 2011 |

The Prognosticator - Week 11
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator

Favre burned bridges when he put on a Viking uniform and for as loved as Brett Favre was in Wisconsin, Aaron Rodgers has left him in the rear view. Barring a sex tape or video of Aaron Rodgers knocking down an old lady with a bottle of Jack in his left and a Marlboro in his right, Aaron Rodgers cult status and star power luminosity may end up being one of the brightest ever. I for one am going to enjoy this ride living in this Rodgers era. Some may say I may be in a rush to canonize Rodgers and that is true, it is early, but what I've seen to date gives me great hope.

Waiver Wire Wonders
Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 15, 2011 |

| We're back to our regular format this week as we tier up the potential waiver wire candidates for this week. A slight deviation as we dump the lowest category and introduce a "Quarterback Discussion" section since so many went down this week. This week's column was written while wondering what the point spread might be if Green Bay played against Indianapolis. I'm thinking in the 30 range, and even then, would anyone touch the Colts? |

 |
| Welcome to Week 12 of the Brew Crew Corner. It's going to be a crazy week for fantasy owners. One thing to be thankful for is the return of Andre Johnson. I could have used him the last few weeks and with all the players going on IR, it helps to get back a player of his caliber. I know we all have parades, families, Black Fridays and holiday decorating to get done so let’s dive right in! |

The Prognosticator - Week 12
Tony Holm, The Prognosticator
Nov 23, 2011 |
 |
 |
I think the world will over react to the loss of Jay Cutler and the chances the Bears have. Cutler has been handing off to Matt Forte all season anyway and Caleb Hanie can still do that. Expect Forte to continue to put the Bears on his back and surprise the Raiders. Oakland will still produce fantasy points, lots of them, but the Bears have a funny way of doing more with less. Go with Carson Palmer and Michael Bush but expect the Raiders to spread the ball around reducing the value of the rest of the team in your lineup.

Start/Bench: Week 12
Ron Anish, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 23, 2011 |

| The bye weeks are done, but so are several players due to injury. If you're still alive at this stage of the fantasy season, it's no time to take your foot off the gas. While some players may struggle in attempting to fill the shoes of an injured starter, others will be up for the task. Choose wisely my friends, as mistakes at this stage of the season could cost you dearly. |

Waiver Wire Wonders
Doug Coutts, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 22, 2011 |
 |
 |
| We're re-treading a couple of names that appeared in this space last week, but we've got plenty of other guys to talk about. No reminder probably needed, but three Thursday games on the schedule this week so get your lineups in early. This week's column was written while wondering why the NHL doesn't award three points for a win in regulation. Teams divvy up three points if a game goes into overtime, why not have three points available regardless of how long a game goes? |

The Feeding Frenzy
Thomas Casale, Fantasy Football Staff Writer
Nov 22, 2011 |

 |
| In the last couple of weeks, two teams with Super Bowl hopes – Houston and Chicago – have lost their starting quarterbacks. Throw in Adrian Peterson going down with an ankle injury and fantasy owners are starting to get their usual late-season headaches. Luckily, even though we’re entering Week 12, the waiver wire always offers some hope. Let’s take a look at this week’s hot waiver wire targets and whether or not those players are worth pursuing. |

Can Waiver Wire Wonder Kevin Smith repeat last week's outrageous performance? Should owners be worried about DeMarco Murray? Plus, fantasy football's most underrated quarterback and most overrated defense are discussed as well. We're talking about this and a whole lot more in the Thanksgiving Fantasy Football Spectacular! |

IDP Waiver Wire: Week 12
Gary Davenport, Fantasy Football Senior Staff Writer
Nov 22, 2011 |
 |
 |
| There’s much to be thankful for as we enter the twelfth week of the fantasy football season. The bye weeks are behind us, the playoffs lie just ahead, and for once we’ll get a couple of games on Turkey Day (Packers-Lions and 49ers-Ravens) that are less likely to give us heartburn than Aunt Claire’s oyster stuffing. (Seriously, who the hell puts oysters in stuffing?) That said here are some players that should be available on many IDP waiver wires that are worth targeting as we head into Week 12. |

| Is Tampa Bay Mike back after a long absence? Which AFC East team is caught in a nosedive? What's the deal with this Kevin Smith guy in Detroit? Which Philadelphia Eagles' backup receiver could help your fantasy team during the stretch run? Which rookie quarterback passed for the most yards during the Sunday games? Matt Wilson answers those questions and covers a whole lot more when he puts Week 11 of the NFL "In The Spotlight." |
