Welcome to the Brew Crew Corner. The wild card round is over and we move on to the divisional series.

Divisional Round

AFC

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos

The Ravens are one win away from returning to the AFC championship game and perhaps a rematch with the Patriots. The Ravens have lost four of the last five games heading into the playoffs including a loss to Denver in Week 15. The Broncos have won 11 games in a row, last losing to the Patriots in Week 5. This game will come down to Peyton Manning out playing Joe Flacco. Another key will be the Denver running backs breaking through the line and eating up yards which will keep the Ravens from being able to drop in coverage to stop Manning.

Prediction: Denver 32, Baltimore 21

Houston Texans at New England Patriots

The Texans need to win this game to prove that they belong among the elite in the NFL. Houston was crushed by New England back in Week 14 with a score of 42-14 and have struggled down the stretch losing three of the last four. They managed to get by the Bengals last week but will need to come out fast in order to put themselves in a position to win. In the end, the Patriots will make a final drive to win it with a kick.

Prediction: New England 21, Houston 20

NFC

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

This is a rematch of Week 1 where the 49ers won 30-22. In that game, Alex Smith was the quarterback and the Packers were not the same team that they are now. That match-up seems so long ago that you could consider it last year’s playoff game. We almost had this matchup had the Giants not beat the Packers. This is the game that seems hard to tell who will come out on top, but I'm taking Rodgers in this one as he will be more efficient then Colin Kaepernick and that will be the difference in the game.

Prediction: Green Bay 26, San Francisco 21

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons had won their final eight games to secure the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. After last season’s embarrassing exit in the first round, the Falcons will look to take the next step towards winning a title. There is more pressure for the Falcons to win in this game. The Seahawks have surprised this season behind rookie quarterback Russell Wilson and beat the Redskins last week to advance in the playoffs. The Seahawks are hot right now and the Falcons will have a tough fight on their hands. I think the Seahawks will march down the field in the first series and score putting the Falcons on their heels. The Falcons wide receivers against the Seahawks secondary will be the key matchup of the game.

Prediction: Seattle 21, Atlanta 17

Last article we looked at those players that won the Platinum Mug award. This week we will look out the annual Fantasy Pro-Bowl.
