Kansas City @ San Diego (-9)

This is not a pretty matchup as both teams are on multi-game losing streaks.
The Chiefs have lost four in a row with their latest loss coming at the hands of the Oakland Raiders last week, 26-16. The Chargers have lost three in a row, losing 7-6 last week to the Cleveland Browns.

This is the second game of the season between these teams. In their last meeting, San Diego defeated Kansas City 37-20 back in week 4. The Chiefs are struggling on both sides of the ball, ranking 28th on offense (17.1 points per game) while ranking 29th in defense (29.9 points per game). The only glimmer of hope that this team has is the run game. The team ranks 3rd in the NFL, averageing 155 yards per game.

They'll have to get Jamaal Charles more than the five rushes he got last week to have any chance at winning but it won't be easy against the
Chargers run defense which ranks 2nd in the NFL. Chiefs QB Matt Cassel will start the game after Brady Quinn was knocked out of last week's game with a head injury. For the season, Cassel has six touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Chargers QB Philip Rivers is on the downside of his career but I think he may still have something left and he should be able to have another good game against the Chiefs.

The Chargers need this win badly so they can keep up with the Denver Broncos in the AFC West and get back to .500 on the season. The Chiefs on the other hand are eyeing a top draft pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

Gimme the Chargers minus the points.

Please make sure to check back Friday for my 4-Star picks and my take on the rest of the NFL schedule.
