Divisional Playoffs: Stars and Bust from the 2007 Draft
The second round of the playoffs continue to shape the fantasy picture for 2008 as teams that lose may change coaches and players as well as the teams that move on. Already in the last week we have seen major changes with the retirement of Joe Gibbs and the 49ers hiring of Mike Martz.
Injuries to key players this late in the season will also impact players. If a player suffers a major injury will most likely not be ready for the start of the new season which will leave their owners hesitant to draft them or frustrated with selecting a player they can not use right away.
The 2007 regular season is over and it leaves us with an insight of the ups and downs of the top players that were drafted this year. Before we look at these players, let us look at the Top Waiver players and the Top Comeback players.
The next list consists of the Top Bust of 2007. There will be many different articles you may read between now and the start of training camp that will discuses which players were busts and why but if you look directly at the numbers you will know who really fell short.
It is not enough to just list the big bust of the season but also to recognize the players that were drafted in the top 10 but finished outside of those rankings. To some, these are the players that are viewed the most as Studs or Duds.
Now that you’ve seen the players drafted in the top ten and where they finished, let us look at the players that were drafted lower that ended the season in the top 10. These are the players we consider to be value picks.
These lists will vary depending on the league you play in but if you break out the rankings like these are, then you could find bargains in 2008. Even players that underperformed this year can fall in the 2008 drafts and become value picks.
