Fantasy Sharks on Speeding Bullet Network

| More

This week, Ed Berliner and Doug Coutts touched upon a number of timely subjects.  Check out the website at www.speedingbulletnetwork.com.

We talked about the 2007 All-Turkey Fantasy Team, led by wide receivers Steve Smith of Carolina and Lee Evans of Buffalo.  The full team has its own article here.

We also talked about some of the Running Back Roulette that is going on, meaning, we hope that you're not in a position where you need to consider these players and/or teams...

Kansas City
With Priest Holmes set to retire (again, we hardly knew ye!), and Larry Johnson still in flux, the Chiefs will have to turn to rookie Kolby Smith.  Kansas City has had trouble running the ball all season no matter who has been carrying the rock so there's no reason to believe that Smith will put up any significant fantasy numbers.

Miami
Ricky Williams....is...BACK!  Officially reinstated by the league, Williams has been practicing with the team so it is only a matter of time before the Dolphins throw him to the wolves.  With only Jesse Chatman in front of him on the depth chart, it's possible that Williams even in a RBBC situation could see some significant touches.

New York Giants
Reports are that Brandon Jacobs will be out for 2-4 weeks at least.  Reuben Droughns is the starter for now, but Derrick Ward is almost healthy enough to start stealing some playing time.  Droughns hasn't been lighting the world on fire, so a healthy Ward has the potential to be the main back for the Giants within the next few weeks.

Denver
Travis Henry has too many things going on, he's hurt, he's about to be suspended, the Broncos have to be ready to move on.  As we all know, Mike Shanahan likes the hot hand and the starting RB in Denver is worth a starting spot in any fantasy lineup.  Selvin Young has been carrying the load, but he got dinged the other night and Andre Hall stepped in a ripped off a long touchdown run.  Hall could make things interesting in Denver, keep an eye on this situation and be prepared to go with Shanahan's hot hand of the week.

Green Bay
Ryan Grant is a little dinged up, though he's expected to play at 100% on Thanksgiving Day.  If he can't go, Brandon Jackson could get another chance.  He hasn't looked good at all, so the Packers aren't in a hurry to give him the rock, look for Grant to do whatever he can to stay as the starter for the Packers.

Some waiver wire tid bids...
WR Javon Walker, Denver
Should be back from injury either this week or next, should step right into the starting lineup and produce.

Arizona D
Up against the 49ers, who's offense is struggling mightily

New Orleans D
Spot start against the Carolina offense this week, given the Panthers state of affairs on offense.

Kansas City D
After what they did to the Indianapolis offense, no reason they can't do the same to what Oakland has to offer.

Hot Players that will stay hot...
WRs Randy Moss (NE) and Terrell Owens (Dal) - 4 TDs for each last week, Owens with the Turkey Day spotlight, followed by Moss doing the same on Sunday night prime time.

WR DJ Hackett, Seattle
TDs in all three games he's played, 100+ the last two weeks, worth a starting lineup spot.

WR Chris Henry, Cincinnati
180 yards and a TD in his 2 games since coming back, that will continue.

QB Matt Schaub, Houston
Andre Johnson is back, Schaub is healthy, a good combination.

RB Maurice Morris, Seattle
Shaun Alexander's replacement should continue to be the starter

Hot Players that will cool...
QB Vince Young, Tennessee
Too inconsistent to start, got it done on the ground last week, don't count on that to continue.

RB Cedric Benson, Chicago
TDs in each of the last 2 weeks a tease, yardage still too low to start him.

RB Ryan Grant, Green Bay
Dinged a bit but expected to play, Packers will pass on Turkey Day.

Cold Players that will stay cold...
WR Steve Smith, Carolina
Did his owners a favor by not playing last week, he hasn't been worthy of a starting lineup spot since week 2.

RB Laurence Maroney, New England
Belichick will protect his only healthy RB, Patriots scoring thru the air too much to count on their running game helping the fantasy player.

Patriots Talk...
QB Tom Brady and WR Randy Moss are tops at their position, WR Donte Stallworth is worth starting, even their defense.  All other Patriots aren't worth a fantasy starting lineup spot.  You never know who will be the RB given the score, and Belichick hasn't kicked a field goal in a long time.  Opposite them this week, the Philadelphia Eagles.  RB Brian Westbrook always worth a start no matter the opponent, in fact this week, with his skills thru the air, he could top all fantasy RBs.  Otherwise, avoid the Eagles.  QB Donovan McNabb isn't sure if he's playing, all other offensive players aren't worth considering.
