Talk about a great weekend of football. It’s starting to look like last year all over again, where every game has the potential to keep you on the edge of your seat. All three of last week’s picks turned out to be great games, even the Cowboys-Giants game. This week should be no different since we once again have a number of division rivals matching up. Let’s take a look at which games might have us standing and yelling at the tv this week… Top Shelf Buffalo at Miami Sun. September 21 @ 8:30pm ET on ESPN Summary: Bitter AFC East rivals with plenty of offensive ammunition. Hot Tip: Randy McMichael may be Miami’s secret weapon … These two high-powered offenses love to face off against each other. Whether it’s in Buffalo or Miami, you can always count on lots of fireworks. The Bills have scored 69 points in the first 2 weeks of the season, but the latest hot topic seems to be Buffalo’s air-tight defense. This game (and Ricky Williams) will determine whether that bandwagon is worthy of jumping on or not. Also on Tap Tampa Bay at Atlanta Sun. September 21 @ 1:00pm ET on Fox Hot Tip: Warrick Dunn is the key to Atlanta coming out of this one with a W. Both of these teams are coming off extremely difficult home-opening losses and look to avenge those losses this week. Tampa Bay was embarrassed by Carolina last week. Their top-notch defense will take it a notch even higher this week and that could be bad news for Doug Johnson. He didn't look good at all against Washington last week. He'll need to turn that around to avoid seeing Michael Vick and his boot take over at half-time. This one will definitely showcase the defenses on either side. Pay close attention to see which offense gets the ball going enough to pull it out. Oakland at Denver Mon. September 22 @ 9:00pm ET on ABC Summary: Bitter AFC West rivals with plenty of offensive ammunition. Hot Tip: If he plays, this will be most of the country’s first look at Jake Plummer in a Broncos uniform. We’ll all get to see exactly where he's hurting and where he's not. These two teams both have a lot of question marks. Even in week 3, both teams will be looking at this game to define who’s going to have the upper hand in this closely contested division. Keep an eye on Clinton Portis’ health. He's listed as Probable (Chest) while Plummer is listed as Questionable (Shoulder). Even though Mike Anderson is a fully equipped backup, Portis is the man that’s expected to take this team all the way this year. |
