Audibles Special Bye Week Edition

Rather than look at the week in review, I felt obligated to provide some insight into week 10 bye week fill-ins.

Your horses like Marion Barber, Earnest Graham, Clinton Portis, Terrible Owens, TJ Horseradish, Chad OchoCinco, Jason Witten and Santana Moss are unavailable to help you this week. Here are some ideas of who you can plug in if you haven't planned up to this point. I'm going to do the best I can with what is out there to work with. That being said, let's get started.


Running Backs

If you look at the available guys, you know our options are thin. Here are a couple of ideas who you can pick up:

Derrick Ward, Giants: Seems to be getting adequate work in a very solid offense. Ward should see 10 carries Sunday evening against Philly. He has the burst and good hands.

Jamaal Charles, Chiefs: I think the Kolby Smith project is a bust. Larry Johnson is busy slapping ladies around. It's time you got a good look at the University of Texas product. He has all the tools and looks slower than he his. He can shake you. He carried last week for 106 yards on 18 carries.

Fred Taylor, Jaguars: Taylor faces a very poor Detroit defense Sunday. The Jags need a win badly, and I see them getting back on track. Fred gets 13 carries this week and passes his milestone all at Ford Field.

Leon Washington, Jets: He proves that he makes the most of his opportunities again. I have him with nine carries and three receptions this week versus a Rams defense that has major holes. Last week he had 42 yards on two catches and seven carries for 13 yards. He isn't playing the tough Bills D folks, it's the Rams.


Wide Receivers

Michael Jenkins, Falcons: I thought Matt Ryan had a lock on Roddy White. Look for more opportunities for Jenkins as the rapport continues to develop. They face a Saints D who has given up the big play almost weekly.

Steve Breaston, Cardinals: Against the 49ers the third receiver in the Cardinals offense does well again this week. This guy is really a gamer.

Kevin Curtis, Eagles: Last week it was Reggie Brown. This week it's Curtis who shakes the rust off versus NYG. The Giants will grab the early lead forcing McNabb to air it out.

Devery Henderson, Saints: Most will tell you it's Colston or Moore but if you need help, Henderson has the upside owners look for. He is averaging 27.72 yards per catch. Although he only has 18 catches (about three a game), He has amassed 499 yards. He is a strong fill in candidate.

Josh Morgan/ Bryant Johnson: You pick ‘em. I like Morgan better because his more athletic. With J.T. O'Sullivan out of the picture and Shaun Hill at the helm, I like his chances. 49ers get behind, then they are forced to throw. These guys aren't worth dropping your pants over, but in a pinch use one.

Tight Ends

Marcedes Lewis, Jaguars: UCLA product is finally acclimated himself to the pro game. Again, against a bad Detroit defense a good start.

Dustin Keller, Jets: Look out in this game versus the Rams. It has shootout written all over it. Favre likes the rookie Keller.

I wish you the best of luck this week during your horses’ bye week. I've at very least given you some ideas if you need a fill in. My team will suffer this week as my only option is Ryan Torain vs. Cleveland. My gut tells me to grab Leon Washington. In a running back dominated league, I can't quite drop Torain without getting a good look at him first.
