Chicago 34, Dallas 18
I can only imagine the range of emotions felt by Matt Forte owners seeing their stud running back start in the backfield, limp off the field after re-aggravating his ankle injury on the first play, and then return to the game on the next series. The Bears’ Pro Bowl running back ended the day with 13 carries totaling 52 yards. However, this team is much better with Forte in the lineup.
Jay Cutler was seen on the sidelines arguing with offensive coordinator Mike Tice. His fragile mind makes him a liability in fantasy lineups. I drafted Cutler in two leagues and already cut bait, unable to cope with his antics. Not to say he won’t have some good games, but I’m looking for consistency. Do with him what you will.
Finally Brandon Marshall decided to show up with 138 yards and a touchdown. Loving it!
Mistakes killed Dallas in this game, including five interceptions from Tony Romo, two of which were returned for touchdowns by the Bears defense. Romo owners should consider benching the signal caller. Looks like you’ll need to cross that bridge in Week 6 at Baltimore (ouch).
Dez Bryant and Jason Witten owners will be elated to know both were finally installed in the game plan. Bryant had a great game fantasy wise, but committed three awful drops. The first would have moved the chains on a critical third down, the second resulted in an interception and the third was a deep pass that likely would have resulted in a touchdown, pulling Dallas within 10 points. He also ran the wrong route, resulting in a pick-six. Thankfully Romo didn’t lose faith targeting Bryant late in the game. This team desperately needs the bye week to regroup.
Miles Austin's limited targets are cause for concern. However, he continues to find the end zone nearly every week. Impossible to sit, Austin owners can only hope his touchdown streak persists.
