Survivor Pools - Week 16

| More

The Colts, Eagles, Jets and Panthers all won last weekend in my four-game sweep of survivor selections. The Bengals win over the Redskins, who I urged you to stay away from, likely caused those who had no other choices or didn’t listen to be eliminated. There are just two weeks left in the regular season and the options are slimmer. Check out Week 16’s game-by-game analysis and continue your survivor run until the end …

The Rules:

  1. Stay away from road teams.
  2. Stay away from divisional matchups.
  3. Never take a divisional team on the road.

On to Week 16 …

Colts @ Jaguars – You have used the Colts at this point, especially since I made them a top pick the past two weeks.

Ravens @ Cowboys – Avoid this one in a game where teams from opposite conferences will battle for their playoff lives.

Bengals @ Browns – Eww.

49ers @ Rams – Not much prettier than Bengals-Browns.

Saints @ Lions – Always a threat that Detroit will win a game, but the Saints should be an option this week. They’re on the road and the Lions haven’t won yet, so it’s not exactly the ideal situation, but there are not many this time of the season.

Steelers @ Titans – No. 1 vs. No. 2 in the AFC.

Dolphins @ Chiefs – Can they continue to win to make the Week 17 matchup at the Meadowlands a dramatic game? The Chiefs are not a pushover and it’s on the road. Miami will need to earn this one.

Cardinals @ Patriots – The Cards are headed in the wrong direction of late and they can’t win on the road, yet alone on the East coast. If you have the Pats, I would make them an option this week.

Chargers @ Buccaneers – San Diego is still alive and the Bucs are fading.

Texans @ Raiders – Never like to take a team on the road, but the Texans are hot. I wouldn’t make this one my top option just because they came off a big home win and could be due for a letdown. As a Matt Schaub owner in the finals, I hope I’m wrong.

Bills @ Broncos – Broncos need to win to clinch the AFC West. I think they’ll get it done Sunday at home.

Jets @ Seahawks – The Jets need to hold up their end of the bargain and win on the West, where they have struggled this year. We want to see Chad Pennington come back to the Meadowlands for the Week 17 “win and in” game.

Falcons @ Vikings – Another game with big implications. The NFC is very interesting this season.

Eagles @ Redskins – The Eagles should continue the hot streak and take care of the Deadskins.

Panthers @ Giants – No. 1 vs. No.  2 in the NFC. The schedule makers can pat themselves on the back for this slate of Week 16 games.

Packers @ Bears – Too bad the Pack collapsed in December or this could have a been an interesting game. Still, it should be an entertaining MNF game as both teams do have some talent.

Choices:

1. Patriots – Cards can’t win on the East

2. Saints – Lions can’t win at all

3. Texans – They’re hot, and the Raiders are not.

4. Broncos – Need to get the job done now.

Tempting picks that I am avoiding:

1. Dolphins – They could be looking ahead and they’ve had a lot of close games against inferior opponents. I’m not saying they will lose, but it sure is a possibility in Arrowhead.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to e-mail me at pags2122@yahoo.com. Thanks for all of the feedback so far.

Good luck this week!
