Football is back! And it comes at a great time when we really need a proper diversion. The next thing you notice is that Thursday Night had the World Champion Baltimore Ravens on the road facing the Denver Broncos.

Thursday Night Football

All of the entertainment was in Baltimore with the exception of the actual game quite naturally. I guess the Baltimore Orioles were playing and they only have one parking lot. Whoopsie! Somehow that just did not work out for The Baltimore Ravens. Hey. Did you see that? That was Peyton Manning throwing another touchdown. He only had seven TDs and in my strong QB league that in combination with his yardage was good enough for 65 outrageous fantasy points. Everyone just said, “And I did not take Peyton Manning in my draft because?” For the second year in a row the defending Super Bowl Champion lost on opening day. As for me I am flying on a wing and a Monday Night Performance by Owen Daniels.

The Verdict Is

I have one player going tonight. It is TE Owen Daniels. He is going up against RB Alfred Morris. This should be a no brainer. But remember those New England Patriots had to drive the length of the field to beat a very new Buffalo Bills team. And how about this weird week one stat? All of last year there were 13 safeties. Between yesterday and today there have been four! Four in the first weekend is outrageous. In the end, Owen Daniels did come through and I begin the year with a victory. This was in a week where my top WR Dez Bryant went for six points. Six! I had WR Anquan Boldin riding my bench. Come on! No one predicted that success. I guess I should have seen that coming. But that means it is time to shore up your lineup and use this website to advance your team creation decisions. Decisions will be paramount this year. So make your team better today with a better method to picking your team. I know that I replay this part every year but it is important so heed these recommendations.

Pick Your Team Wisely Using 7 Steps to a Better Team

Can 7 steps make your week? Only if you try them my compadres de football d’fantasy. Your Fantasy Football team wins if your starting team has more points at the end of the weekend than your opponent. As profound as that doesn’t sound it becomes that simple. A great bench doesn’t win it.  But knowledge is power and I am here to help. If you lost this week, let me assist you with a strategy that will at least give you a fair shot. All you want is a fair shot in this game. Anything else and you are the Postmaster General for the town named clueless, population, you! So here are seven steps to a better starting lineup. I made the seven steps stick out so you can keep them handy.

7 Steps To A Better Fantasy Football Starting Lineup

(1)    Register At http://www.fantasysharks.com It’s Free! (Always a Shameless Plug)

(2)    Go to  My Fantasy Football Home and enter your team in to the Edit My Players section.

(3)    After Thursday AM Go To My Fantasy Football Home and the Fantasy Sharks Lineup Coach

(4) Change all your players to that team…now!

(5)    Here is the fine tune that helps out … Check out Tony Holm’s prognosticator … hope he is running it again this year.   If not, we are on our own to judge the games for the best running/passing/catching scenario.

(6)    If any of your second string (WR/TE/QB/K/RB) is on a hot offense, you may want to consider switching.  For example if Peyton Manning is playing well and you have your choice between his 3rd option Eric Decker or a Lance Moore, you may want to consider Eric Decker.   But stay vigilant and pay attention.

(7)    Do that until you are satisfied with your selections

Now, just relax, you did your best. That is all you can hope for. If you are winning, great, but if you are like the other half this week, stuff like this may help. Now this is just a starter. Take advantage of the message boards and all other fine writers on this site. All of us are here to help you. But you must begin in the beginning. Speaking of which…how did your first week go? My diary entry is about the invasion of the even faster paced offenses.

Dear Diary

Did you put on your track shoes? Several NFL teams have adopted this run and gun strategy. Each offense runs as many plays consecutively as possible in order to nullify defenses. Defenses cannot match up and the result is even more offense.

For example, during the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins, there was a point where the Eagles were up by five points. But the Eagles had run 34 offensive plays to the Redskins seven plays.   Yes, you heard that right. This is outrageous.

The defenses are handling this the only way they know how. Several players are getting “injured.” Now I am sure that they are injured but the injuries appear at a certain time when the offense is beginning to run “down hill.” So watch that for the next few weeks. I will be very interested in the league reaction.

I never thought the game could get any faster but it is going on high octane turbo speed for some teams. Then there are the other teams which are playing normally. It really shows that you have to adapt or lose.
