The Hive – Week 9 edition

Welcome back to The Hive! Week 8 brought about the arrival of David Harris, Julius Peppers sucking eggs, and a big bounce back week for Barrett Ruud. But readers of The Hive weren’t caught off guard by any of the three, were they? Let’s get to the week 9 action!

Game notes: For San Diego , don’t expect a repeat of Antonio Cromartie’s heroics last week, but the playmaking DB is definitely one to watch. I do like Cooper and Wilhelm vs Adrian Peterson this week though. As for Minnesota their two best run stoppers are Henderson and Winfield, so I’d say they are your best plays vs LT.

Game notes: Reggie Bush should be good to go in this one, so Mike Peterson is a strong play. Sammy Knight will probably be fired up to play his old team. No real other stud plays for the Jags. For New Orleans I like Roman Harper to come up and try to stuff the run (since Quinn Gray is horrible), he should be huge this week.

Game notes: This could be an interception laden affair, with 1^st year started Jason Campbell going against 1^st year starter Kellen Clemens. Sean Taylor and Kerry Rhodes could each have a field day. Abram Elam is holding on to the strong safety job, and Mangini really likes the kid so I think it is for good. Considering the kind of points that Erik Coleman used to put up there, Elam could end up being IDP gold. I called him the Atari Bigby of the AFC, and this could be the week he shows it. And finally, congrats to all of you who either were patient enough to hold on to David Harris or fast enough to get him off the wire. He is going to go ballistic for the rest of the year.

Game notes: Adrian Wilson looks good to go this week, get him back in your lineup. Darnell Dockett looks to rebound after a couple of down weeks. I like this matchup for him. For Tampa , Ruud bounced back nicely last week, and LB’s usually score really, really well vs Edgerrin. Don’t get caught with Ruud or Derrick Brooks or run stuffing safety Jermaine Phillips on your bench this week.

With the news that Henry will play for Denver and considering how pathetic that passing game is without Javon Walker I think the Lions LB’s will score big, as Denver will have to run a lot if they want to have a chance to win.

And for KC watch out for Jarrad Page and Bernard Pollard, both could be huge this week. I like Page better vs the Pack, as he is the better playmaker against the pass.

Game notes: For Seattle I like the LB’s, and the DB’s should be solid against Braylon and Winslow. I don’t think Tapp will have the same ridiculous game he had before the bye, but I do like him as a 2^nd half DL sleeper. For the Browns they will be without their best LB, D’Qwell Jackson, so Davis and Williams will start at the ILB spots. I’d rather start Williams of the two.

Game notes:   For the Ravens you have to think ol’ Ray can muster up a serious number of tackles, and I think Scott will join him. Not too excited about anyone else there. For the Steelers hopefully Anthony Smith showed the coaches what many of us already thought, that Ryan Clark is the one who belongs on the bench. Smith will start again based on Clarks spleen injury, and we will have to see what goes down when Clark is healthy again.
