The Seadog IDP Report

| More

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! The regular season is drawing to an end and we’ll be wrapping up the Seadog Report the next couple of weeks. Weeks #16 and #17 are just too hard to figure sometimes as teams wrap up playoff spots and sit their starters. However, I’ll give it a go so let’s dig in!

This past week’s Top Dawgs

DL Phillip Daniels WAS 5 tackles, 4 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery.

DL Jason Taylor MIA 5 tackles, 2 assists, and 3 sacks.

LB Tedy Bruschi NE 9 tackles, 2 assists, and 2 sacks.

LB Gary Brackett IND 10 tackles, and 1 int.

DB Dre’ Bly DET  11 tackles, 2 assists, and 1 int.

DB Nick Collins GB  11 tackles, and 1 assist.

Seadog’s picks of the week

DL Adalius Thomas BAL vs. Minnesota This guy has been Mr. Versatile for the Ravens all year long. He’s lined up as a DL, LB and even as strong safety in some sets.  He’s been on fire the last 3 weeks, and I think he’ll have a good all-around game against the Vikes this weekend.

DL Will Smith NO vs. Detroit Smith has had an excellent season this year and has really come into his own. He’ll be terrorizing Harrington a lot on Saturday.

DL Seth Payne HOU vs. Jacksonville I’m not a huge fan of DL’s that play in a 3-4 defense because they usually don’t put up very good fantasy stats, but Payne has put up some pretty good numbers the last couple of weeks. If you need to grab someone on waivers for the playoffs, he’s certainly worth a consideration.

LB Mike Peterson JAX vs. Houston I know that Peterson is an every week player for the most part, but if you’ve got to choose one over the other, this is a great match-up this week.

LB James Darling ARI vs. Philadelphia Darling has had very consistent production the last couple of weeks. While I doubt he’ll post spectacular numbers, he should provide a more than serviceable play against the Eagles on Saturday.

LB Kawika Mitchell KC vs. San Diego It seems whenever I’ve played a KC LB in the past, they’ve always let me down, so I tend to not think very highly of them. But, Mitchell has quietly posted very good numbers the past couple of weeks. I’d consider taking a chance on him as he goes against the Chargers this week.

DB Ken Lucas CAR vs. Dallas Lucas has been hot as of late and he should be putting up more good numbers this week against Bledsoe and the Cowboys.

DB Erik Coleman NYJ vs. New England The Pats will be playing to win this Monday night, and I expect Coleman will be pretty busy in the Jets secondary. This should be a good match-up this week.

DB Brent Alexander NYG vs. Washington Alexander only had a couple of tackles the first time these teams met this year, but he’s been putting up 5 or 6 tackles a game the past few weeks. If you are looking for a fill-in, I’d consider giving him a shot in your line-up.

The Wall Report

Round #1 of the playoffs

#4 Hussy Bus vs. #1 SJSwarm

#3 Paddler vs. #2 Dgack

SJSwarm’s London Gentlemen team was just too strong as he was able to take down the red hot Hussy Bus team in the first round of the playoffs. Dgack surged over Paddler’s Destruction team and moves on to take on SJSwarm in the Wall league championship. It will be team #1 vs. team #2 – just the way it should be! Congrats to both teams!

Thanks for reading everyone – Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
