The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report! My play of the week has got to be Tedy Bruschi’s sack of Kyle Boller, forcing him to fumble (which was eventually recovered by Jarvis Green in the endzone for a TD). That was awesome. Not to mention the “mudbowl” conditions of that game. Didn’t it make you just want to go out there and slog around in the mud chasing the pigskin with those guys? Good stuff.

This past week’s Top Dawgs

DL Julius Peppers CAR Peppers had an awesome week this past week (1 tackle, 3 assists, 1 sack, 1 pass-defensed, 1 blocked kick, and 1 int for a TD). Although his tackle numbers were down, his 46 yard interception return for a touchdown and the blocked kick was huge. (Honorable mention goes to Jason Taylor – 3 sacks and Eric Ogbogu – 3.5 sacks)

LB Keith Bullock TEN Bullock has been a one-man gang for Tennessee’s defense. His 12 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack, and 1 pass-defensed were my favorite linebacking performance of the week. This guy is a stud.

DB R.W. McQuarters CHI  R.W. was doing it all on Sunday – tackles, punt returns, 2 ints (1 for a TD). Good stuff! (6 tackles, 1 assist, 3 pass-defensed, and 2 int’s)

Seadog’s picks of the week

Okay, the season is winding down and some guys are doing very well and some not so well. I’m going to continue to share what I think are some of the stronger plays for this week, maybe some repeats from last week. There are certainly a lot of “ups and downs” in IDP-land even when playing some of the true IDP studs that are out there, so I’m going to lean a little heavier on the match-ups this week.

DL Kevin Williams MIN vs. Chicago  The Bears offensive line just hasn’t been getting it done lately, especially with a QB carousel going on. Williams is coming off a good performance from week 12 and I look for him to take advantage of this match-up this week.

DL Cornelius Griffin WAS vs. NYG  I’m predicting 5 tackles and a sack this week for Griffin against the G-men and their young QB.

DL Bert Berry ARI vs. Detroit   This one goes out to Brentum1 from the Shark Tank message boards (how do ya like that? – Williams and Berry this week!) Bert has been doing some decent IDP damage over the past few weeks regardless of the opponent and he should get a favorable matchup this week vs. the Lions.

DL Julius Peppers CAR vs. New Orleans  Don’t sit this guy for the rest of the year.

LB Jeremiah Trotter PHI vs. Green Bay  Since taking over the MLB spot for the Eagles, Trotter has been putting up some very solid numbers. Expect more of the same this week.

LB Will Witherspoon CAR vs. New Orleans  Witherspoon has been picking up the slack from Dan Morgan’s absence. Plus, he’s going against New Orleans. Start him this week if you can.

LB Jonathan Vilma NYJ vs. Houston  The rookie has been posting some respectable numbers as of late. That will continue this week.

DB Sean Taylor WAS vs. NYG  Taylor is finding his groove and I look for him to get a pick this week from Eli Manning.

DB R.W. McQuarters CHI vs. Minnesota  He’s going to be busy again this week against Duante and company.

DB Troy Polamalu PIT vs. Jacksonville  I like this matchup. Troy should be pretty active this week against the Jags.

Remember, ALWAYS play Ray and Rodney - Thanks for reading!
