The Seadog Report

Greetings Sharkfans, welcome to the latest installment of the Seadog Report!

Week #1 is in the books and now it’s time to look ahead to week #2. These are some match ups that I think will be good plays this week. And, by the way, play your Baltimore players with confidence. I don't really mention any Raven players in my report this week, but they are going against an anemic Raider squad, and they should rule. Here we go with the rest of my recomendations.

Seadog’s picks of the week

DL Ebenezer Ekuban DEN vs. Kansas City The Chiefs are missing Willie Roaf big time, and with a backup QB at the helm Ekuban has a great match-up this week to produce some good numbers. We’ll see how he does.

DL Dwight Freeney IND vs. Houston Freeney is an awesome DE, but he doesn’t always produce good IDP numbers because of the double and triple teams he has to face all the time. Houston’s offensive line is still not very good. Freeney makes a good play this week.

DL Bert Berry and Darnell Dockett ARI vs. Seattle This is a similar situation as the Denver-KC game. The Seahawks are experiencing life without Hutchinson and Walter Jones is a little gimpy. Berry and Dockett will be going against that side of the line, so they should make a good play against Seattle.

LB Matt McCoy PHI vs. NY Giants I hesitated on this one for a second, but McCoy even performed better than my expectations last week. This could be a classic match up for each defense and I’m thinking McCoy pulls out another good week this week.

LB Gerald Hayes ARI vs. Seattle I think Seattle will try to get their running game back on track this week. Hayes is manning the middle for the Cards, so I’m expecting a lot of action for him.

LB Will Witherspoon StL vs. San Francisco This match up may not be the highest IDP point play this week, but Witherspoon is solid and I think he takes advantage of a young San Fran offense.

LB Manny Lawson SF vs. St Louis Manny put up respectable numbers last week

(6 tackles). I can see him doing more of the same this week.

LB Demarcus Ware DAL vs. Washington Ware didn’t win the IDP crown last week by far, but he was everywhere. I really like the way he plays. The guy is a force. I’m thinking his IDP numbers are ready to bust out.

DB David Barrett NYJ vs. New England Barrett was hurt some this preseason, but he was a solid IDP-guy last year and now he is back in the starting line-up. He’s a CB but I think Brady might pick on him some in their game. I think the Jets CBs are going to get picked on a lot this year.

DB Mike Adams SF vs. St Louis Adams will be busy against the Rams.  At this point he’s a much safer and better play at safety than Tony Parrish.

DB Terrance McGee BUF vs. Miami McGee is a pet favorite of mine, so I’m going to put another plug in for him this week. Tackles, INTs, kick returns – McGee does it all. Culpepper is a little rusty still so I like this match up a lot this week.

Well, that wraps up this segment of the Seadog Report. Thanks for reading!
