Vinnie's Pick$ and Pa$$es - Week 1

Ad for SportsBetting.com

Regular Season Time, I’d like to thank everyone who’s been following my column for the last couple years. It’s a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to a VERY profitable season this year.

Years ago, in Las Vegas, I met a cab driver who told me that the real professional gamblers in Las Vegas bet on sports, because there often is an edge that the public never sees. Some match up, some unseen coaching event, etc. That’s what I look for, and that’s what my comrades in Vegas pass along to me. Let’s have another HUGE year!

Any support to my column's sponsor would be greatly appreciated.  Just, click on the ad above as we get a small kickback from sportbetting.com.  There's no cost to you at all!

Ok, onto the picks!

Seattle -6 @ Detroit Lions: Playing against last year’s Superbowl loser. There is a simple system here, take the loser, and bet against them. This year, it’s even better as the Seahawks are on the road, and have questions at WR, and have lost a key member of their offensive line. On the flip side, Detroit has a new coach, and new philosophy, and should keep it close. Closer than the 6 points we’re getting.
Detroit +6 ****

Chicago -3 ½ @ Green Bay: The Packers have too many problems and are in a rebuilding year with an experienced QB. The swarming defense is exactly what Brett Farve does NOT want to face with a terrible offensive line. Look for the Bears to win this game solidly with the defense and running attack. |
Chicago -3 ½ ****

Minnesota +4.5 @ Washington: Minny has a new coach, and new attitude. You will get your money’s worth with the Vikings as the give 100% every play. Redskins coach Joe Gibbs is killing a year before retirement. Clinton Portis is hurt, and the offensive timing doesn’t seem to be there yet. Look for Minny to cover here.
Minny +4.5 ****

There we go, Week 1, three easy winners. All 4 star games, perhaps a bit too soon to jump to a 5 star game, let’s see how these teams react out of the gate.

Detroit +6 ****
Chicago -3.5 ****
Minny +4.5 ****

P.S.  Final 2006 Record = 60% winners
