Everyone is aware of Wide Receivers like Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson and Randy Moss. While of course it is critical to land your top players. It is the Managers who can get solid depth late in the draft, or players that will put your team over the top in terms of winning the championship. Here are some Wide Receivers you will be able to land late in your draft, who could help you win it all this year. Miles Austin - Dallas Cowboys With T.O. gone to Buffalo, someone has to step up as the Cowboys WR2, while Patrick Crayton is still there. I expect Austin to win the job and produce solid numbers for 2009. With Austin lining up opposite Roy Williams and Jason Witten. He should see plenty of single coverage and lots of opportunities to make plays for the Cowboys this year. Expect WR2/3 numbers from Austin. Mark Bradley - Kansas City Chiefs Tony Gonzalez is in Atlanta and no real depth to speak of at the WR position. Bradley is in line to see a lot of targets in 2009. Stepping into Anquan Boldin's role in Todd Haley's offense could mean big things for Bradley this year, He just needs to stay healthy and should produce WR2/3 numbers for 2009. Domenik Hixon - New York Giants With Hixon lining up at Split End for the G-Men. He should produce some solid numbers in 2009. Steve Smith will run as the Flanker. As long as Hixon can hold off rookie Hakeem Nicks. I expect him to produce WR2 numbers in 2009. With an honorable mention to Steve Smith here. I really feel Hixon is the number 1 Giants WR to own this year. Justin Gage - Tennessee Titans Although his ridiculous 19.1 YPC average, is surely to dip this year. He will still be the primary target in the Tennessee passing game this year. And will make for a nice WR3/4 this season. Josh Morgan - San Francisco 49ers Kept off the field for the start of 2008 with a staph infection, when he was on the field he definitely showed big play ability. It has carried over into OTA's and all reports are that he has been the best skill player on the 49ers so far this off-season. He is talented and will keep Isaac Bruce in a back-up role, If the 49ers want their best two receivers on the field. He is not on the fantasy radar for most managers. Snag him with a late round pick, you will be rewarded for it later on. This goes double for Dynasty leagues. Earl Bennett - Chicago Bears Earl who? Last years rookie was slow to develop for the Bears and had no catches in 2008. Cutler and Bennett were teammates at Vandy and are good friends. Bennett is expected to start opposite Devin Hester this year. And I think Cutler will find a way to get him the ball. draft him as a WR4/5 and watch him blossom in 2009. Deon Butler/ Ben Obomanu - Seattle Seahawks Deon Butler has been lining up at Split End this off-season with T.J. at Flanker. Obomanu also plays Split End. Either Obomanu or Butler will most likely emerge as the starting Split End in the Seattle offense and could have as much as WR2/3 value for 2009. Keep track of this situation as the summer progresses. Mike Walker/ Mike Thomas - Jacksonville Jaguars Mike Walker is expected to start opposite Torry Holt in 2009, with Thomas playing the slot. If your league award points for return yards or special teams TD's, Keep your eye on Thomas. |
