Week 1

| More

Since the season is just starting, I can only go off last year's stats and this year's projections. I'll be adjusting my stats and projections to this article as the season unfolds and add more matchups.

Favorable Matchups:

Dallas vs NYG: New York finished last season 13th worst against receivers. They project starting Sam Madison who is 31 and Corey Webster who is entering his 3rd season and was inconsistent last year, while starting 10 games. Also, is it just me or does there seem to be way too much drama going on with NY.

Pitt at Cle: Cleveland finished last season 11th worst against receivers. Cleveland's projected starting corners are Leigh Bodden, who will have alot on his mind after his recent altercation, and a rookie in Eric Wright. If Pittsburgh is going to air it out like they say, then this should be the week to do it.

Hou vs KC: Kansas City projects starting Ty Law who is 33 and Patrick Surtain who's 31, at the corners. Those aren't exactly spring chickens out there. Kansas City is going to be a train wreck this year.

Unfavorable Matchups:

Det at Oak: Oakland finished last season 2nd best against receivers and their strong pass defense returns intact. Detroit has been inconsistent on the road and could have a difficult time getting it going.

GB vs Phi: Philadelphia finished last season 7th best against receivers. Their corners return intact and now the top 2 of Green Bay's receivers have been practicing on a limited basis this week.

Buf vs Den: Denver finished last season 3rd best against receivers. Now they have an even better duo of corners with Dre Bly opposite Champ Bailey. Buffalo will have a hard time getting anything going in week 1.
