Week 11 Lineup Tips

| More

Good morning!  This is going to be a crazy Sunday, not lazy Sunday, around the Bukowski house as I failed to get my Thanksgiving food shopping done yesterday.  This usually means an early wakeup in order to get back in time to check for inactive players and make last minute lineup adjustments.  But, I'm a team player and still found time to provide you with my valuable insights into today's games.  Here's a few lineup tips to help you along.

Al Davis must be green with envy as he watches the Bengals add another bad boy to their roster.  It would have been worth the price of admission to watch Larry Johnson and Raiders' coach Tom Cable, 6'3" and 273-pounds, get into it on the sideline.  Instead, we'll have to settle for images of Cable (allegedly) sucker punching assistant coach Randy Hanson.

I believe that Johnson will have some nice fantasy value should he ever get onto the field.  Just look at what the Cincinnati offensive line has done for Cedric Benson.  Benson has already set a career high in rushing yards in a season with 859, while averaging a career best 4.2 ypc.  He's also tied his career best with six touchdowns this season in only nine games.  I
wouldn't cut anyone with value for what appears to be a longshot.  But, if you're carrying some dead weight on your roster you may want to take a gamble on Johnson.  Especially With Oakland, Cleveland, Detroit and Kansas City remaining on the schedule.

With that being said.  If Bernard Scott is available in your league, grab him.  With it looking like Benson will sit out today versus Oakland, Scott is an excellent flex play with some very serious upside.

Those in PPR and dynasty leagues should take a look at Chiefs' WR Lance Long.  Long has already drawn the praises of Chiefs' coach Todd Haley and QB Matt Cassel, who likened Long to Wes Welker.  Add in the four game suspension of Dwayne Bowe and Long has what every NFL player longs for...an opportunity.

With Reggie Bush out of the picture for today's game, look for Pierre Thomas to have a big game.

Look for Bears' TE Greg Olsen to find his way into the endzone against an Eagles' defense that gives up the second most fantasy points to tight ends.

If you're in need of help at tight end, the Texans' James Casey provides intriguing upside.  According to Texans' coach Gary Kubiak, Casey is going to be a big part of Houston's offense over the next seven games.  Owen Daniels was far and away the top TE when he went down earlier this year, so stash Casey now and reap the benefits come playoff time.

Tony Scheffler had his best game of the year against the Chargers in week six hauling in six passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.

With Giants' RB Danny Ware taking over as the full-time third-down back he's now just a Brandon Jacobs' injury, not unheard of, away from fantasy relevance.

The Buffalo Bills' defense has only allowed two passing TDs this season.  Look for the Bills' defense to be so occupied with stopping MJD that Mike Sims-Walker makes a trip to the house this weekend.

Since allowing seven rushing TDs in its first three games, the Houston defense has only allowed three rushing TDs in its last six games.  Titans RB Chris Johnson has had four games in which he's rushed for two TDs and five games in which he has failed to reach the endzone on the ground.  Coming off a bye and playing at home, I look for the Texans to not allow Johnson a TD via the ground.  But, of course, I'd still start Johnson.

I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving!  And, remember to drive safely.  Better late than never.
