Week 13 Lineup Tips

| More

No time for small talk, let's get right to the this weeks lineup tips.  But, first a shameless plug.  I'll be a guest this morning on RotoExperts' 'Think Tank' hosted by Jonathan Phillips and Scott Engel.  The show starts at 10:00am cst and I'll be stopping by around 10:15am cst.  Give your family and friends an early Christmas gift and link them up to show.

Now, on to this weeks tips...

Look for Matt Schaub to have a huge day against a Jacksonville defense that is the sixth most friendly to quarterbacks.  I'm talking 300 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Andre Johnson will be the main beneficiary of Schaub's huge day.

FYI, in case you're desperate, Chris Brown is going to get the start in place of Steve Slaton.  Again, adding to what  Matt Schaub will do on the field.

Cedric Benson is a must start in his return against Detroit.  But, Larry Johnson should get at least 12-15 carries this week.

The Packers give up the second least fantasy points to RBs.  But, Ray Rice should still be able to rack up at least 100 combined yards.  But, as for scoring a TD this week?  Unless he can score via the air, it looks like Willis McGahee will continue to get any carries near the goal line.

I'm gettin' all giddy thinkin' about Jonathan Stewart getting all the carries against the Bucs this week.  It looks as though DeAngelo Williams is going to play Sunday.  But, if he doesn't, there isn't a running back that I'd rather have this week than Stewart.  The last time the Panthers faced the Bucs they ran the ball 47 times for 262 yards and three touchdowns.  I betcha someone else is startin' to get giddy, also.

Prior to getting into the end zone last week against the Patriots, who have the 9th stingiest fantasy defense for RBs, Pierre Thomas did not score a TD against either the Rams or the Buccaneers, who are giving up the 4th and 6th most fantasy points to RBs, respectively,   I loved Thomas as a preseason sleeper.  But, his early season injury, the emergence of Mike Bell and Sean Payton's RBBC approach have made me a bitter man.  Hence, look for the Saints' running game to continue to frustrate me as

Pierre Thomas will score a TD versus the Redskins who are giving up the 5th least fantasy points to RBs.

With the return of Julius Jones and a quadriceps strain suffered during practice Friday it may best to bench Justin Forsett this week.

Remember what Austin Miles did to the Chiefs' secondary back in week 7?  250 yards and 2 TDs.  I expect Brandon Marshall to get at least half that.  Look for Marshall to challenge Andre Johnson as the top WR this week.

Speaking of Miles Austin.  70+ yards and a score are on tap.  Eli never should have written on the wall at Cowboys Stadium, now it's payback time.(Sarcasm)

LeSean McCoy has another good game filling in for the injured Brian Westbrook as he goes for over 100 combined yards and a TD.

It's Christmas time and Jay Cutler is in a giving mood.  Look for Cutler to gift wrap at least 2 interceptions for a Rams team that only has 8 on the year.

Bears' RB Kahlil Bell received zero carries in week 12 after running for 72 yards on the first carry of his career in week 11.  Bells' 72 yard run was the longest by a Bear in 20 years.  Lovie Smith your days in Chicago are numbered.  Well, maybe not, we are talking about the McCaskey's.  I don't care what Matt Forte did last year, his 3.3 ypc are killing us THIS year.

Look for Rashard Mendenhall to go for 100 yards and dare I say...2 TDs versus the Raiders today.

Have a great day and good luck.
