Week 5

Reuben Droughns?  Where’d this guy come from?  How does Denver continue to produce dominating runningback performances week after week and year after year.  Start with Terrell Davis, he goes down with a blown knee.  Then toss in Mike Anderson, Olandis Gary, and then Clinton Portis.  Going into this season the discussion was about Quentin Griffin, Garrison Hearst and rookie Tatum Bell.  Denver should just consider trading Reuben now to a team starved for a RB as his value will never be higher.  30 carries for 193 YDs and a receiving touchdown, amazing, just amazing.

Another guy who came out of the woodwork this week was Jesse Chatman.  Jesse spelled LaDainian Tomlinson and carried the ball 11 times for 103 YDs and a TD.  This is what drives fantasy owners nuts, add Chatman and Tomlinson’s numbers together and you have another monster game for LT2.

Mewelde Moore had a nice game filling in for the injured/suspended Minnesota running game.  92 YDs rushing and 90 YDs receiving on 12 catches.  Not a bad debut.  The only problem is that the 3 headed monster now became a 4 headed monster and that is a lot of roster spots to carry in Bennett, Smith, Williams and now Moore.  Still, whoever gets plugged in the lineup produces so it is better than having Lee Suggs and William Green along with Eddie George and Richie Anderson taking those spots.

Your votes from week 4 eliminated Fred Taylor.  There was a lot of expectations on Fred going into this season, but so far he has been a disappointment.  I still expect him to bounce back and improve as the Jacksonville offense improves, but for now with 52% of the vote, Fred Taylor you have been eliminated from the competition.

Now onto the nominees for this week’s Ultimate Fantasy voting.

Current contestant list:

Shaun Alexander      Tiki Barber                         Kevan Barlow

Domanick Davis        Stephen Davis                   Corey Dillon

Marshall Faulk          Ahman Green                     Travis Henry

Priest Holmes           Edgerrin James                   Rudi Johnson

Jamal Lewis             Deuce McAllister                 Clinton Portis

Fred Taylor             LaDainian Tomlinson             Brian Westbrook

Each week we’ll take the 2 lowest fantasy producers based on the Fantasy Sharks scoring system and put them up for an elimination vote.

This week we have 2 new contestants up for your vote.  Both Travis Henry and Ahman Green had disappointing performances with Travis rushing for 33 YDs on 12 carries and Ahman equaling the yardage number on 10 carries.  Now Henry tweaked his ankle and was replaced by Willis McGahee, but he has been horrible all season.  Meanwhile Green Bay fell behind early which forced Brett Farve to throw the rock.

It should be an interesting vote, which you can do here.
