Survivor - Week 5

| More
More articles from Nick Pagliuca

The Miami Dolphins were unable to hold on in Arizona and the Atlanta Falcons managed a late comeback, which allowed most survivor hopefuls to move on. The bye weeks will begin to pick up this week, so check out my full analysis on every game to see who you should select in Week 5.

Selections :

Week 1 : Chicago - WIN

Week 2 : New York Giants – WIN

Week 3 : New Orleans – LOSS

Week 4 : Baltimore – WIN

Thursday Night Football

Arizona at St. Louis Kevin Kolb leads the 4-0 Cardinals into this NFC West battle, where the improved Rams will attempt to give them their first loss. Avoid.

Sunday Games

Miami at Cincinnati The Dolphins have the top run defense in the league, and that spells trouble for BenJarvus Green-Ellis. However, they are coming off a tough road loss to Arizona and now must face the Bengals, who have handled their business standing at 3-1. I expect the Bengals to continue their success and pick up their fourth win.

Green Bay at Indianapolis The Packers head to Indianapolis, and I see them handling the Colts fairly easily in this one after two hard-fought games.

Baltimore at Kansas City The Ravens travel to Kansas City. I would avoid the Ravens on the road.

Atlanta at Washington The Falcons will look to go to 5-0, but Washington will give them a fight at home. Look elsewhere.

Cleveland at New York Giants The Giants should be a clear-cut option if you have them this week. After a tough loss to Philadelphia, the Giants will not be looking ahead and should take care of the lowly Browns.

Philadelphia at Pittsburgh The battle of Pennsylvania will be a huge game for the 1-2 Steelers. Expect them to come out strong and hopefully get some of their key defensive players back.

Seattle at Carolina This is an interesting game as the Panthers return home after a tough loss to Atlanta. Seattle is a clearly better home team, but they have the New England Patriots in their building next week. Therefore, they need to pick up this win if they want to stay alive in the NFC West race.

Chicago at Jacksonville The Bears defense looks very tough through four games this year as they head to Jacksonville, who could be in for a world of trouble as well. The only question is will there be a letdown on the short week? I would pass until they are home.

Tennessee at Minnesota Minnesota is a surprise this season, and I am almost buying into them, but I am not willing to risk a survivor pick on them just yet.

Denver at New England The Patriots welcome Peyton Manning back to New England, but I expect Tom Brady to win this game by a touchdown. I would not go with them in survivor in this matchup, though.

Buffalo at San Francisco The 49ers are a viable option as they host the Bills. I think there may be other options this week, and you can save the 49ers.

Sunday Night Football

San Diego at New Orleans I am staying away from Saints games until they pick up a win.

Monday Night Football

Houston at New York Jets This one could get ugly as cries for Tim Tebow may be heard on national television. The Texans have a dangerous defense and the Jets drew one of the worst back-to-back home game schedules in recent memory.

Week 5 Selections :

My Week 5 pick would be the Cincinnati Bengals. I am trying to hold off on the San Francisco 49ers just yet. However, if you have the New York Giants available, I would rank them above the Bengals. Another potential choice would be the Green Bay Packers, even on the road.

Avoid : Atlanta Falcons
