Survivor - Week 7

Six teams are on bye this week, including five who are .500 or better, which limits your options for Week 7. There is also only one double-digit favorite on the card. Check out my analysis on this week’s games with a selection and team you should avoid in your survivor pool.

Thursday Night Game

If you can, avoid the divisional matchup, but expect the San Francisco 49ers to be hungry to get back out on the field after the New York Giants outplayed them in every facet of the game last Sunday.

Sunday Games

The teams that are favored by at least five points this weekend include Minnestoa (vs. Arizona), Houston (vs. Baltimore), Green Bay (@ St. Louis), New York Giants (vs. Washington), New England (vs. New York Jets) and Chicago (vs. Detroit). There are three divisional games, which I would likely all throw out of the equation, and one road team. I would feel strongly with taking either the Vikings and then the Patriots out of that mix. Minnesota should be the most tempting option because of the injury to Kevin Kolb and the struggles of Arizona recently. The Vikings lost on the road to Washington last week, so I would expect them to come out strong at home on Sunday.

Aside from those six games, you have Oakland as a four-point favorite hosting Jacksonville. Oakland played well on the road in Atlanta last week, but I would not feel as confident in the Raiders as I would with Minnesota. Maurice Jones-Drew always has the capability of taking over a game if the Raiders cannot stop the run.

Selections

The Minnesota Vikings are the top selection for Week 7 followed by the New England Patriots. If you are still searching, go with San Francisco on Thursday Night Football. If you want to be gutsy, roll the dice with Oakland or even Buffalo. Any time you want to take a chance with a team that is not a big favorite, look at the home teams that do not involve divisional games.

Avoid

I advised you to avoid New England and Arizona last week, who were both losers on the west coast. This week I would not take the Packers at the Rams. Everyone is back on the Packers' bandwagon believing they are back for good. The Rams are much improved this year and will not lay down to Green Bay. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers won since they are the favorite, but I think the Rams give them a fight.
