Week 8 - Survivor Pools

| More

If you didn’t have the Colts or the Patriots in Week 7, you did not have a solid selection entering the week. In my case, the Giants did not come to play on Sunday night and blew a touchdown lead twice. The Panthers also showed how good they really are at home against the Bills. Another six teams have a bye this week. Check out this week’s analysis on the 13 games.

I am not going to select one team each week for the remainder of the year since I have not done well this season. I apologize for that, but am ready to rebound as we near the second half of the season!

Week 8 games

Denver @ Baltimore – Stay away. The Ravens need this game, but the Broncos are undefeated. I like to lean towards the team who needs it more.

Houston @ Buffalo – Avoid this one. What’s up with Buffalo?

Cleveland @ Chicago – Have to like the Bears here to bounce back at home after they were embarrassed by another AFC North team. Here’s your No. 1 selection this weekend.

St. Louis @ Detroit – Too bad they are wasting a good matchup for an opponent by playing each other. Maybe Steven Jackson will finally reach the endzone.

Miami @ N.Y. Jets – The Jets were 1-0 in the division with a big win against New England. However, they dropped to 1-2 with losses to Miami and Buffalo. They need to win this one at home, but the Dolphins have been playing well – except for the second half collapse against New Orleans – which may have taken a toll on them.

San Francisco @ Indianapolis – Peyton Manning continues to dominate. First half MVP, no question. If you have Indy, use ‘em.

Seattle @ Dallas The Cowboys have a chance to move up in the NFC East with the Giants playing the Eagles on Sunday. I expect them to win, but Seattle will put up a fight. I’d look elsewhere.

NY Giants @ Philadelphia – Big game this early in the season. Will the Giants lose three straight and fall to 5-3? Will the Eagles be without Westbrook?

Jacksonville @ Tennessee – Stay away.

Oakland @ San Diego – You can never believe in Oakland. They may have their games, but they’re still a terrible football team. The Chargers are an option, even in this divisional game.

Minnesota @ Green Bay – The first meeting was fun, but Brett Favre at Lambeau in a different uniform is going to be better.

Carolina @ Arizona – Arizona has pulled off two big wins on the road. Are they ready to come home and continue that success or are they in for a letdown? I’m going to avoid this game for that reason.
Atlanta @ New Orleans – High scoring affair on Monday Night Football! This should be fun.

Options : Indianapolis, Chicago, San Diego. In that order.

Tempting team you should avoid : Arizona. Coming off two big road wins, they may have a letdown. There are other options with less risk this week.
