Brian Westbrook was shown no love in the week 7 voting.  Even though his stats have barely kept him in the top 20 of all RBS, his value was evident to the Eagles this past week.  They struggled to move the ball on the ground and just held on to beat the Ravens.  He received 54% of the vote and was eliminated from the competition.

Priest Holmes continues to be on fire.  He only scored 3 TDs and rushed for 143 YDs leading his team to a big win over the Colts.  He had a few games where he was struggling, but has come on strong over the last 2 weeks.

The Seahawks promised to get Shaun Alexander the ball more often this past week and they did.  He carried the rock 32 times for 195 YDs and scored 2 TDs (1 receiving).  His 10 TDs on the season are second only to Priest.

Curtis Martin owners must be pulling their hair out as midway through the 3rd quarter, Martin was replaced by longtime backup Lamont Jordan.  Both ended up with identical 115 YDs rushing and 1 TD.  Nothing kills a stud fantasy performance like a backup coming in for mop-up duty in a blowout.

Now onto the nominees for this week’s Ultimate Fantasy voting.

Current contestant list:

Shaun Alexander      Tiki Barber                         Kevan Barlow

Domanick Davis        Stephen Davis                    Corey Dillon

Marshall Faulk          Ahman Green                     Travis Henry

Priest Holmes           Edgerrin James                   Rudi Johnson

Jamal Lewis             Deuce McAllister                 Clinton Portis

Fred Taylor             Ladainian Tomlinson             Brian Westbrook

Each week we’ll take the 2 lowest fantasy producers based on the Fantasy Sharks scoring system and put them up for an elimination vote.

Again this week we’ll have 3 players available for your vote.  Jamal Lewis will get added to the mix since his team played this week but he was suspended by the NFL for his conviction of drug charges.

Corey Dillon sat out this week because of an injury.  It became evident quickly that the Patriots have come to rely on what he brings to their offense.  The Pats struggled early and in the end only attempted 6 rushes for 5 YDs while losing for the first time in over a year.

Clinton Portis was traded to the Redskins in the offseason, and has for the most part been a disappointment.  This week he rushed 17 times for 70 YDs and 7 fantasy points, but he is not scoring TDs and is not helping his team win.

So you have 3 runningbacks to choose from this week.  Place your vote now.   I promise no court appeals and we’ll have a winner by the time the polls close next Tuesday
