Week 9 in Survivor Pools

| More

The Giants won their sixth straight game overall against the winless Dolphins in London. Thanks to Brandon Jacobs and the Giant running game, I improved my record to 8-0 on the year.

How Did I Do in Week 8?

*5 STARS = GIANTS over Dolphins = WIN
4 STARS = COLTS over Panthers = WIN

*My Week 8 Pick

On to Week 9...

It’s Week 9 and if you’re still alive, it’s time to start throwing some rules out the window. Last week, I did that by selecting a team on the road. It wasn’t truly a “road” game in the sense that the opposition had home-field advantage, but we didn’t know what to expect from the G-Men as they traveled across the pond.

With that said, it’s time to break the rules again…

* * * * * REDSKINS over @ Jets – It’s beginning to get tricky as I am selecting a road team here in Week 9. However, I like Washington this week to avoid falling to .500 and in the middle of the pack in the NFC. They should bounce back in a big way after getting pummeled by the Pats and will take it out on a much lesser AFC East opponent. Coles is in jeopardy of missing the game, which is a blow to Kellen Clemens, who will make the start for the Jets. I hate betting against back-up QB’s with nothing to lose, but the options are just not there this week.

* * * * STEELERS over Ravens – A divisional game that should come down to the wire with the way these hard-nosed defenses play. This is a type of game that you would normally stay away from, but there are no other options this weekend. Therefore, my second option has to be the double digit favorite Steelers. Pittsburgh has a chance to have some separation from Baltimore with a win. They cannot lose a divisional game at home in primetime to put them even with the Ravens.

MY PICK: I saved them for this week, so I have no choice but to use them. The three-point road favorites have been very tricky this year, but the Jets are just awful. I see it first hand every Sunday as I am forced to watch them because of the blackout rules, etc. Let’s just hope that this Clemens is just as big of a bust on Sunday as the one in the Bronx was this year. Hail to the REDSKINS!
