What I Learned Last Week Was Enough To Win

| More

Despite every site I went to telling me that Jay Cutler was 162 yards and 2 td's, I put the 20 for 25, 266 yards, three TD's, 1 int prediction out there for all to see. I was a bit off. Cutler was 21 of 27 for 247 yards, Three TD's, and 1 int. Pretty darn close.

I also told you he'd find Olsen for a score. Of course, it happened.

I talked about the 49ers over utilizing Frank Gore and it ending with Gore out. Again, It happened.

Donald Driver was supposed to have 7 catches for 91 yards and a score according to my calculation. He ended up with 7 targets, only 4 catches and 95 yards, and a score. Pretty scary close.

I let you in on Jericho Cotchery being the 3rd Quarter man, and there he was smiling in the end zone in the 3rd Quarter. Real Scary.

I told you that Steve Smith was the guy, not honey baked Manningham in New York. Pretty run of the mill in my book but still correct this week.

My predictions though somewhat general, yet still made me look like I have my finger on the pulse of this game we all play.

I talk about emerging stars like Donald Brown getting more work because he is effective. I saw that in him in college and knew he'd make the transition to the pro game. This game is not a hobby, it's an obsession. Like a drug that makes you feel euphoric. I imbibe and celebrate my vision, and laugh madly when my vision requires corrective lenses.

I wrote about Chad Pennington sitting this week, again it happened after he was driven into the ground. Perhaps pure coincidence???

I don't have to be clairvoyant to throw some of these out there, because I know how bad JaMarcus Russell is... He makes Jake Delhomme look good.

The bottom line is this. Figures don't Lie but Liars figure. Perhaps my one week of solid vision is a fluke? Let's find out together this week, when I give you tidbits of what I saw this week. Do I know what is really going to happen? Or do I use some broad generalizations that the numbers support?

I vow to be bold just like ND was when he predicted. He didn't care if anyone thought he was two sandwiches short of a picnic, nor do I.
The foodie in me hopes the picnic basket is full.

When I am out on the Lake tomorrow thinking about what's in store for this week, and searching for a trophy bass, I will think of which players I saw that will either make me look like I have great vision or need glasses.

I am celebrating a solid week with a win over my nemesis, the Santa Cruz Cephalopods. I did it with vision, luck, or Jericho Cotchery being the 3rd Quarter man.

The numbers didn't lie to me and while everyone else in my main league was scrambling to the wire for Manningham, I was putting line on my baitcaster for a Monday Bass mission. You can still call me "ND", just don't call me late for dinner.
