They just won their 4th road series so far this year after knocking off the Rockies.

In 2010, they won a total of 4 road series all season long.

The Pirate need to play .354 ball (45-82) the rest of the way to lose 99 games. I'm feeling pretty good that they'll do a little better than that. :D

They'll need Pedro Alvarez to start to hit. Love Neil Walker but it's unrealistic to believe he can keep up this pace.

The Pirates Rd 2 pick Josh Bell is getting mixed reviews since he has gone on record before the draft that he wants to go to play ball at the University of Texas.

My sense is the Pirates are going to try and convince him that they'll be a semi hard $ slotting scheme for future drafts that will be part of the next MLB union agreement and they'll throw enough money at him now to at least make him reconsider his decision to go to Texas.

Their Rd 2 pick last year (Stetson Allie) was rumored to be a "tough sign" and he slipped to Rd 2 and they were able to sign him so maybe it works.

If they can sign Bell, they'll have picked up a real nice prospect and the bat they need to go along with Gerrit Cole. If they don't sign him, they'll get a Rd 2 compensation pick next year.

It looks like Jameson Taillon is adapting to pro ball. For a power type pitcher, his control is the thing that sticks out.

38K's - 4BB's in 42 innings is sweet and he hasn't walked a batter in his last 18 innings.

June 15 and the Bucs are .500. Baby steps first.
