Jake Arrietta is sneaky good. Morton will be firmly attached to my bench despite having two starts this week. I hope he deals, but...

Their record in interleague play is horrific. MLB needs to do away with interleague play. :lol:

I wouldn't dump Morton yet. I have more of a concern over the Pirates infield defense going forward as opposed to him finding his control again and getting hitters to pound out those grounders that have helped him this year.

sad thing is, i knew yesterday was coming... and got soooo close to packaging him and mike leake up for another arm in my 16 teamer. The other guys concerns about leake losing his slot in the rotation when bailey is healthy *was* the hold up... now Morton might as well be a leper. :F

Let's hope this series goes a lot better than their last interleague road series... :)

I hope maybe Allie or Taillon can make it to double A by the end of the season.. That could set them up well for making a debut in 2013..

At this point of their development, Taillon looks like he's at least a full year ahead of Allie.

I'd look for Allie to spend the entire season with State College with an outside shot at jumping to High A West Virginia. Taillon has a chance to make a late season jump to AA.

Nothing but speculation on my part but you'll also see it linked with him in prospect scouting reports as well but it shouldn't be a surprise if Allie ends up as a closer down the road.

Don't look for the Pirates to be in a rush to sign Gerrit Cole in order to get him into their farm system this summer. He's thrown 114 innings so far this year and they will be content to get him signed before the August deadline and best case, possibly have him pick up 30-40 innings in AZ fall ball.

At some point next year, Cole and Taillon should both be at AA Altoona and I'd be tempted to make the 2 hr drive up to see either pitch.

Yeah, I'd hope that either would be set to pitch when Altoona makes a trip to Harrisburg.. that'd be awfully convenient.

3 games over .500, about 2 games out of 1'st place and a string of 4 home sellouts in a row.

Maybe the best part of this season is people are turning out for the games.

there's still a lot of time for the real pirates to show up. i'm thinking 16-59 the rest of the way....

in all seriousness, i'm glad to see this ship get righted. i'm not a believer in the pitching staff short or long term, but there's reason for excitement here.
