Just making sure I'm not crazy for benching him, loved the guy for getting me to playoffs, but with that ankle and lions signing another back, plus momo and keiland in the mix. He shouldn't see much action, right?

Detroit Lions RB Kevin Smith (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 30. He is listed as probable for Week 17 and is expected to play.

He may not see as many touches in the game as a whole with the addition of Joique Bell, who the Lions have said they want to get ready for the playoffs but this game means too much to the Lions (and not so much to the Packers who are expected to rest some key players). If the Lions could script it they would score early and often in this one with KSmith being a big part of that production and then let MoMo and Bell clean up at the end.

There is no doubt that Smith is their one legitimate threat out of the backfield and he is both their best receiver out of the backfield and their best blitz blocker. So Smith WILL be involved, especially early

But then do you agree, assuming they eventually are winning, they sit and rest him in most of the second half?

i wouldnt play smith if i had better options... det wants to win to get the 5 seed, but he's been banged up, so they need him to rest cuz the bottom line is that they are in the playoffs and will be playing on the road in the first round.

I still think KSmith gets more in one half than Ivory does in whole game - better chance that Smith sees endzone
