Thoughts on this UN gun treaty and our 2nd amendment rights the fruitcake President and his cult followers are whipping the horse and pushing for?

what does the UN gun treaty say concerning citizens rights to bear arms? all the article talks about is off shore drilling and clean energy policies.

Heading up to look at a few new rigs tomorrow. Guy is retiring from his shop, sold the business but the new owners want to go a different direction with some product lines and didn't purchase the entire inventory. Should be interesting to see what he has to get rid of.

New home defense.
Mossberg 590A1, 12 Gauge, 9-Shot, 20" Barrel, Picatinny Rail, Black Synthetic Stock, Ghost Ring Rear & M16-Style Front Sight

Yes, it came with a bayonet  which will likely sit in a pile in my safe with the rest of my knives.

Gonna put a Surefire forend tube on it. http://www.surefire.com/623lmg.html

Was looking for a Remington 870 Express Tactical w/ ghost ring sight but no one has them in stock and they're currently unavailable to order. Will continue to keep my eyes open for one, but the Mossberg fits the bill for now.

Too cool! A little pricey for a novelty, but cool nonetheless.

I traded in several guns that I rarely used and bought this:
Image

.357 magnum, 16" barrel. I was hoping to hold out for the 20" model, but they seem to be few and far between in .357.

I also have a Ruger SP101 on backorder in .357, and I'm having some work done to my grandad's 12g double barrel. Will post pics of those whenever the purchases bear fruit.

I like Remington, but am a big fan of Mossberg shotguns. I have a Mossberg 12 gauge pump that my dad found in a graveyard before I was born. Someone was apparently hunting rabbits at night in the graveyard and left it propped against my papa's grave. My dad found it when he visited early that morning. He ran an add in the paper, but no one claimed it.

I'll be 40 in 4 months and am still hunting with it. It's an awesome weapon.

I'm double posting this so that gun owners will see this and respond.

Below is a link to a YouTube video from a very well respected member of the firearm community. I suggest you take 9 minutes to watch.

http://youtu.be/wj1PycmPEXI

I took his suggestion and used the link and text in the video details to send a message to my representatives. I request that you do the same.

Below is the link and excerpt from his video that he mentions.
Thanks

Assault Weapons Ban 2013

Dianne Feinstein has released details for her proposed 2013 Assault Weapons Ban. This new Assault Weapons Ban is far more restrictive than the 1994 law she helped to pass. This new law will ban many popular handguns, rifles and shotguns and will require registration for most gun owners. Please get involved to stop this legislation now.

You may use this message to send to your Senators, Congressmen and the President:

----------------

Greetings,

Due to the recent events at Sandy Hook elementary school we now face renewed threats to our Constitutional rights. While I understand how painful the loss must be for those touched by this tragedy, blaming firearms or their owners and punishing them is not the answer to the challenges we face as a nation.

We already have laws that were violated by a man who was likely psychotic and heavily medicated. This man was stopped by the mandatory background check from purchasing firearms. He then decided to murder his mother and take her legally owned firearms to commit this tragedy.

If your true goal is to protect our children, then enact legislation that will do that. Banning firearms that are rarely used in crime (less than 1% of the time) is not going to stop such tragedies, that was proven in 1999 when the Columbine shooting took place under the 1994 ban. Do something meaningful, please. Make committing the insane easier. Put armed security guards in our schools. But do not strip us of our rights and property by passing additional anti-gun laws that have historically had no positive effect on crime in our nation or others.

Thank you.

Question for you folks with shotguns.. or any you for that matter..

Would you seriously consider and likely purchase a high quality rifled shotgun barrel to upgrade your current or future shotguns with?

Something that would.. say.. take for instance the Remington 870 - Remington offers rifled barrels that are meh and generally don't shoot decently with anything but Remington slugs. Would you rather pay a bit extra to really increase the accuracy and performance?

If Im using a slug I am rarely shooting at a distance that it would make much of a difference in. It really boils down to me to what kind of distance you are realistically going to be using it at.
