I did this a few years ago and it was interesting as all get out. Forgive me for trying it again but I am curious.

Let me ask you this:

You have been awarded 20 minutes to carry on a conversation with anyone in the history of recorded time. You can choose any one person except a family member or a religious figure.

You would you choose to spend the 20 minutes with?

I am not even going to bother posting mine as you know who it would be.

Thanks for the time.

Do we assume we have some kind of universal translator so that we can converse even if we do not speak the same language?

Or limit it to languages we can actually converse in?

I'll give it some thought. My first impression is Thomas Jefferson. I'd like to know how the author of the Declaration of Independence would justify owning slaves.

That is really tough. It's hard to pick one without regretting not picking someone else.

But I would probably pick somebody from the Revolutionary War era.

I like the idea of "why" or what we would talk about.

Need to think about this...

I think in 20 minutes, you could get some feel for that with Jefferson.

I was thinking about Hitler, but all you'd learn in 20 minutes was that he was a truly evil person. I don't think you'd actually get any insight into why.
