I've mowed the weeds in my lawn 4 times, which is one more time than all of last year (damn drought). I also enjoy the smell of fresh cut grass it takes me back to my childhood.

It's that time of year.
I cut mine for the first time yesterday.

I had to double dose the flower beds with weed killer and just start from scratch. With such a short and warm winter the weeds have taken over.
Good time to rip it all out and just re-mulch it.

Hasn't rained in a month here. None in the forecast, either. All I need is some green spray paint.

Haven't mowed, yet. Certainly within the next couple of weeks, though.

Did mine last night

Changed the oil..didn't sharpen the blades, since I just wanted to get the grass knocked down
Had to jump the battery, since it hadn't been started all winter
Threw the deck belt as soon as I engaged the blades
45 minutes to drop the deck, and get it back on
Engaged the blades, threw the belt, and it broke the belt this time
30 minutes of cussing and travel time to borrow my dad's mower
1 hour to cut the grass

Still better than shoveling snow

After the worst drought in Texas history, we've now had double the normal rainfall in the last three months.

Back to mowing every other week, but at least I outsource it.

1st mowing for me as well. Has been in the 70s and 80s all week. Everything's already blooming and flowering. Crazy.

I always thought that would make a good car freshener scent.

oil & spark plug changes.. blade change on the push mower.

1st mowing of the rental weeds today. New home in the forecast with an acre.. of flat grass. Looking forward to that instead of the hillside weeds here.

I've been wanting to get outside and de-thatch the lawn, but I've been sick these last two weekends. It really sucks being sick.

What's killing me right now is the oak pollen. We have a huge oak tree right out our back door.

At noon today I cleared the patio of all the pollen. By 5, it looked like this...

By morning, you won't even be able to see the concrete.

Everyone in the house is wheezing from allergies.
