I agree with HND, the NBA has gotten much much better. It is going to be a damn good series with OKC and MIA.

I read the article. Interesting.

The only way that this question would have had relevance/legitimacy in Rome asking it is if he actually BELIEVED that there was a possibility that Stern is going to, in one way or another, basically say yes it's fixed.

However Rome knows going in that there is no chance in hell that Stern is going to do that, so therefore Rome is only asking because he wants Stern to react. Therefore, while the issue at the heart of the question should be asked, this was all for show. Therefore, Rome is just another radio guy trying to get people talking. Which we are.

Same here. I've tried getting into it, but I just can't.

I enjoy college basketball, can't watch the NBA.

i can't believe people don't. professional basketball is fantastic right now. the basketball you see today is as good as the 80's and 90's. there was a "meh" point in the 00's when teams were trying to recreate jordan with the likes of AI/kobe/carter/tmac but thats over.

I believe parity is a part of it. LA was pretty dominant in the early 00's. Remember when the Nets were the best team in the east? :F

Miami and OKC look like they represent a new generation of basketball too--noticeably more athletic and explosive.

Stern has done his best to ruin it though.

Ugh, the gap in skill from NBA to college is about the same as from men's basketball to women's.

Best athletes in the world. Go watch it live to really see what they can do.

3rd best sport today, behind NFL and SEC football.

Thing is, Stern went onto the Smith interview next and was asked the same question. He didn't ask Michael if he "still beats his wife?". Instead he actually answered the question. Rome's a tool but Stern is a douche for that

The skill level has nothing to do with why I enjoy college basketball and not the NBA.

?

It's not much of a team game anymore at the college level than pros, it's ruled by 1 and done guys who are raw and not very coached much of the time. The ugliness of college basketball recruiting and prima donnas dwarf about every other sport, including football.

I enjoy college basketball but it's NBA AAA for the most part now. Heck, the guys who are 1 and done don't even have to go to class spring semester.

This is why the WNBA is so popular. Because people love pure, fundamental team basketball.

So is pw really Bobby Knight now? One and dones go to spring classes at UK, as evidenced by their gpa's. Of course many of those guys are in their 2nd college semester, so they could be taking remedial courses at that point. I LOVE college basketball and can watch any decent teams play. I'll watch the NBA, but I do so more to see individual players. They really are the best athletes in the world IMO. Plus in a few years half the NBA will be ex-UK guys! =D> =D>
