This years Peyton Hillis, flash in the pan kind of player, or young raiser like LeGarrette Blount?

Well since he's a WR, can you think of some WR examples?

Flash in the pan a la Mike Williams from Tampa (though he's finally caught some team in the last two weeks) or someone rising from no one to star like Colston did.

Why cant he just be Victor Cruz? A guy with a lot of talent from a smaller school who lit it up for a couple of years in the preseason and then took off when he finally got his chance? He isnt going to get worse next year if you are wondering whether to keep him in a keeper league. He will still have Eli throwing to him and he will still have Nicks on the other side commanding double teams. Ideally he will have Manningham to keep him from getting doubled as well.... Eli CLEARLY trusts him and as a long time Giants fan who has watched Eli's whole career I can tell you that if he trusts you, you get the ball... a lot!

Gotta note, though, that sometimes those pre-season explosions are worth your attention. Cruz's '10 pre-season was something to behold, as was Antonio Brown's this year. Both might be coming into their potential, at slightly different rates.

Consider this: if you take out the first 2 weeks, where Cruz played sparingly & was not at all involved in the offense, he has scored an average of 14.44 points in standard scoring per week over the last 9 weeks. That is 2nd only to Megatron's 14.67 during that span for WR's. Cruz is really, really good.

He's only officially started TWO games this season! TWO! I have some make a decision at the end of the season on my second keeper and Cruz is in the mix. I'm seeing kind of a Mike Wallace 2010 production that lead to 2011 high potential situation. Where will VCruz be ranked next season?

Cruz is very much legit. Anyone who has watched him play this year can vouch for that.
I played against him last week and got burned bigtime in a Monday night deciding game... saw it coming.

I think he's easily a top 10 WR off the board next year.

I picked him up off waivers last year after I witnessed that 2010 preseason, had to drop once he was like 4th string once the season started.

Fast forward to 2011, he goes undrafted by everyone inculding me. Thankfully, or not depending how you look at it, I go 0-7 in my dyno keeper league and am first on the WW after he blows up against Nnamdi. No choice but to grab him, and since then I haven't looked back. He's been in my starting lineup except for one week the whole season and It's paid huge dividends thus far.

Had already decided my keepers for next year too, premature as it was, I choose maclin over the stable of receivers I have. Yeah, Cruz has def overtaken Maclin by a wide margin, and theoretically he's just the slot man. Solid keeper at this point even if he doesnt catch another pass this year.

Going out on a limb and saying he goes 1100-1150 9 TD's, if that isn't keeper worthy I need to quit My dnyo leage as soon as possible

I've clinched the playoffs, and I'm considering benching Wallace for Cruz.

If you look at several Bucs players, like Graham, and a few others, they have great preseasons and don't do much regular season.

However, I'm glad I picked Cruz up. makes up for when I stupidly dropped Steve Smith right before week 1. ](*,)

That fellow Latino helped me beat the top ranked team on monday night. I hope he's not a dud next year.

In my opinion, he's an above average talent in an amazing situation. Nicks draws all the good coverage and double teams while Cruz benefits from Eli's improved play this year. Short term, keep him going because I can see this situation continuing. Long term, don't gamble on him as a top 10 WR. Defenses will eventually begin to respect all the Giants WR threats. And when everyone is seeing equal coverage, I think things will swing back to Nicks production wise.

Uh oh. Add WR Victor Cruz (hip) to your list of injured Giants. He is on the pre-practice report today
