RICHMOND, Va. (AP)—Virginia State Police say Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Nate Collins has been charged with possession of marijuana.

State police say the 24-year-old Collins was charged last Thursday during a traffic stop in Fauquier (faw-KEER’) County in northern Virginia’s horse country.

A state police spokeswoman said Monday that Collins was on Route 29 when his vehicle was stopped for an illegal window tint. A trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from Collins’ vehicle and the spokesman said Collins agreed to allow the trooper to search his 2011 Dodge.

State police said a small amount of marijuana was found. Collins also was charged with a window tint violation.

Collins listed his address as Charlottesville, where he played for the University of Virginia. A listing under his name could not be found.

This is for an incident which happened last off-season. Not sure why its taken this long to come to the arrest, tho ...

I would not rule that out. A distinct possibility. Although we perfer our players to smack and choke people. Mostly women.
