What are the tanks early thoughts on Floyd for the 2012 season?

Much of the same? Increase? Decrease?

I'm on the fence with him for this season but if he can stay healthy he should be looking at his 1st 60rec/1000yd (10TD?) season. Thing is I don't trust that to happen at all.

thoughts?

2012 opponents
Home: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers

Away: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

WR3. I think 60/1000/10 is a best case. He'll miss some games.

Yea I don't think you can push those numbers any higher. Rivers would have to pass the ball over the RB's heads more often. Not sure I'm seeing that in the tea leaves.

I've been waiting for this guy to do something for it seems like 6 years. He should still have a pretty low price, unless he's made the #1.

I traded him away in my dynasty at the end of last season while he was on fire.

Do you think Vincent Brown could step up into a much bigger role? Or do they go after a free agent like Dwayne Bowed or another of the handfulls of FA WR's out there?

Well, someone is going to get added work/targets if Jackson lands elsewhere. Answering 'who to' is way too early yet but Brown's there so it seems logical at this point.

I can't trust Floyd as anything more than a WR3, regardless of his current situation. He's just never taken advantage of opportunities when they've been there, consistently anyway. The Bolts will do what they usually do and draft a WR sometime in the mid rounds. The targets will get spread between Floyd, Brown, some middling Patrick Crayton-type free agent, and they'll slowly work whatever rook they draft into the mix. Same story, different year.

If I am drafting a Bolt WR this year it'll be Brown unless their adp's catch me off guard. I expect Floyd to be in the 50's and Brown about 30 picks later.

More importantly to me, the situation doesn't look set up for a bounce back year for Phillip Rivers...

Sounds about right to me

Floyd doesn't excite me in the least bit

Someone in my 10 team money league just dropped Malcom Floyd. I was considering picking him up but I don't know who to drop. My currently I can only have 5 WRs which are Roddy White, Vincent Jackson, Britt, Hartline, Stephen Hill. Points to make:

- I like Hill's prospects this season when he gets healthy with Holmes out.
- Hartline seems to have the trust of Tannehill now and is a target magnet.
- Seems crazy to drop Britt but has been plagued by injuries.
- Of course will keep White
- Vincent Jackson is finally heating up.

Thoughts? Should I make room for Floyd?

If it's a redraft, I'd drop Hill for sure.

Sorry it's a 3 keeper league, so I think dropping Hill still applies. The more I think about it the more the Jets look like a hot mess, especially at QB.

Floyd's always gonna be inconsistent, its just the way hes used in the gameplan. He doesn't catch many balls, so you have to be prepared; realistically he isn't hitting 1000 yards nor is he getting more than 5 TDs. He fits the Vincent Jackson lumbering mold really well and makes some terrific catches, but he's got less power. He also sadly is almost a lock to miss time every season. Meachem's proving once again he's not worthy of a starters role; he's good for the occassional deep bomb thanks to his speed, and that's it.

Really big on Vincent Brown being the #1, had him on every one of my teams before the ankle break. I'm optimistic about him on return, but I don't know much about how quick WRs adjust after a broken ankle.
