Miami may not get OC Mike Sherman's college QB, Tannehill, staying at 8. How incredible that you might have to trade into top 4 to get him.

Jaguars G.M. Gene Smith said today that the potential interest in Tannehill could lead to a trade at No. 7, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com.

However, teams that are interested in Tannehill may have to trade up higher than No. 7 to get him. As Peter King noted today, drafting Tannehill may require trading all the way up into the Top 4.

In fact, if it becomes apparent that the Browns are interested in drafting Tannehill at No. 4 overall, it’s even conceivable that some team could trade all the way up to No. 3 to take him before Cleveland can. With Andrew Luck surely going first overall to the Colts and Griffin surely going second to the Redskins, trading up to No. 3 would be the only way for a team that loves all three of the top quarterbacks in the draft to ensure it can select Tannehill.

Forget about the Jaguars at No. 7. The team that has to love the talk about Tannehill’s stock rising is Minnesota, which is now in the driver’s seat in the first round.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!

Scare tactic.

Teams are trying to scare the Browns into taking him at 4. That's not very nice.

He will go way too early and some of Cousins, Foles, Weeden, Osweiler, etc. will too. As the draft nears value for QB's and OT's go through the roof. DL's and CB's too. Happens every year.

Jaguars GM Gene Smith is open to offers for the No. 7 overall pick.
"I would clearly entertain moving back," Smith said. "I know there's a lot of interest in [Ryan] Tannehill."

Since when is Tannehill considered a franchise QB? Is he going to last at least as long as Trent Richardson (barring injuries)? I hope that a team's not foolish enough to draft him over TRich, however devalued the RB position may be.

No surprise there. I really hope someone trades with us to get him. While Blackmon or Claiborne sound good I would rather have more picks. If it was the chiefs or seahawks i am guessing we would get a 2nd rounder and maybe a late rounder as well or something next year.

Nah, he should be okay till almost the end of the top 10. I'd suggest trading up to #9 would be the spot to grab him.

Call it the "Locker, Ponderson, Gabbert" effect. I know it happens every year, but in the past two years it has been ridiculous and incredibly media-driven. Browns should offer the pick to Miami for this year's 2nd and next year's first.

99% sure the Seahawks won't be drafting Tannehill even if he's there at #12.

THIS.

I think this is beat writers trying to make a story, since Luck and RG3 are pre-determined at #1 and #2, and teams drumming up fake interest so they can trade down their pick.

Most teams seem to be set at QB. I can't see Ryan Tannehil going inside the 1st round.

Though, I've seen stranger things happen.

I think he'll go in the 1st. I thought Washington would be the madmen to do this, but then they won the RG3 auction.

So you're betting on the Seahawks taking him then???

Because not very many teams are uncertain at QB:
-Miami will likely land Flynn
-Tenn likely wins the Manning sweepstakes (good team, good Line, weak division, Tennesse alma mater, and he gets to beat up on Indy/Irsay 2x)
-Arizona: Tannehill not much of an upgrade over Kolb
-Jacksonville: Just got Henne as their back-up plan.

Which leaves the Browns, which would be rich for a #4 pick, Buffalo, who just invested in Fitzpatrick, and the Seahawks, who have the right depth pick and the need. The other dark horses are the Broncos and Chiefs, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of them brings in Hasselbeck or Garrard.

Clearly, you're advocating Seattle is this madman.

I don't accept that premise at all. We have no idea what kind of commitment Flynn will get, it might very well not be prohibitive, nor do you have any idea how all of these teams rate Tannehill. So while it's fun to say 'if he's going in the 1st, then he's going to Seattle', it's not intellectually honest.

I'm not saying he goes top 10. The Browns have another pick in the 1st, teams can trade up from the late 2nd, etc.

You can't do that, I'm stating my reasons for not accepting your premise :P

I firmly believe he'll draft-day fall to the 2nd round. You give me a compelling reason why he won't.
