Harvin repeatedly declined to discuss his reasons but he clearly is not happy with his situation

Harvin said situation must be resolved before he'll show up to training camp.

Percy Harvin is at minicamp but said he's "not happy with a couple situations." wouldn't elaborate

Quote:
Harvin didn't elaborate on the "situations," but said they must be resolved before he reports to camp. Coach Leslie Frazier didn't sound concerned, saying the two will "talk it through." Harvin currently stands to make a total of just $2.465 million under the final two years of his rookie deal.

Hmm I've been waiting to hear how Jarius Wright looks working with the starters, I may find out soon.

I doubt there is all that much of a holdout. He doesnt have all that much leverage.

Be interesting to see how many days he tries to prove a point, but if its a money motivated move the money he'll start to lose will - ironically - motivate him to get there sooner rather than later.

If its not money motivated (and he says its not solely about that, but then alot of money motivated guys usually do say that) be curious to find out what the others are if anyone knows?

All the same definitely one to watch, if only to see how his noggin holds up :thumbright:

I've got this feeling that the Vikes might not want to keep him long-term. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Well they wisely safe guarded against loosing him to FA by drafting Wright and Childs.. Burton and 1 other young'un will make it likely. Percys not going to be looking for a bag of peanuts on payday. Someone will offer up a ransom type number if and when its time to talk ching. Carlson just signed 5yrs $25M - $9M guaranteed.. Garcon signed 5yr $42.5M -$20M guaranteed, DeSean Jackson signed a 5yr, $47M $15M guaranteed.. We'll see what happens.

Obviously the staff and FO aren't overly concerned about it at this point but there again.. we regularly get fed handfuls from the Vike's staff and FO..

That's what's got me worried. Percy is a bit diva-ish. Rosenhaus is his agent if I'm not mistaken. He'll hit free agency and go somewhere for #1 WR money and disappear.

Reminds me of someone in Seattle right now.

Percy Harvin - WR - Vikings

Percy Harvin has requested a trade from the Vikings, sources tell the Associated Press.
Harvin is scheduled to earn just $2.47 million in base salary over the next two seasons. He's also clashed with the coaches over playing time as he saw just 58 percent of the offensive snaps in 2011. Still, the Vikings are highly unlikely to grant a trade request even if Harvin follows through on his holdout threats. They'd never get equal value for one of the game's most versatile and explosive players.

I wonder if he suspects they're not interested in him long-term, so he'd rather get somewhere and start building rapport in a system that is willing to pay him big money eventually.

Honestly I love his game, but his migraines have to be really scary. There's a reason he's spending a lot of time on the sidelines. It's because you just don't know what his body can handle...

I like Harvin but his migraines and lack of use forced my hand and I traded him and maclin for McFadden and the #3 pick in our rookie draft. I agree that it looks like he is going down the Sydney Rice path - get traded, sign a big contract, become the fourth option in a mediocre offense.

Traded him straight up for Welker earlier this month, feel pretty good about it.

I thought he had claimed to have found the source of the migraines last off season. He missed no games last year and had a reception and a rush in every game. He may have beat his migraines.

That said I still refer to him as Headache Harvin, he's living up to the name.

Any homers heard any news about Jarius Wright?
