Ive noticed a couple of sharks voice interest but they need to build up sands. I will pony up the entry for up to 3 sharks on a first come first served basis, but based on need and merit. PM me and post here and consider it done.

I'm sure Click-Clock-Click-Click is in need, $500 sands would feed his village for many years to come. For a little over a S$1 a day...

I'll definitely be back again this year, probably draft in a couple weeks.

Draft Thursday August 9, 9pm. Team is Crane Kick to Head, but the league is virtually empty. I don't know if there will be enough time for it to fill up, but we'll see.

I noticed that auction drafts are available for Yahoo public leagues now. Has anybody used this for their draft? Would you advise it?

How would an auction draft work anyways? You'd bet $1 for your kicker and defense, defeating the purpose of the handicap.

I did a mock auction at Yahoo and I saw people opening with huge bids. I guess it could have been people on autopick, just to keep things fair. If not, then maybe some kind of percentage or floor for K/DEF could be used? I don't know what the equivalent value of a 1st and 2nd rounder would be, maybe 35% of your budget or something? Seems tough to keep track of, and I hadn't even given it a lot of thought when I posted, I think I was mostly shocked to see Yahoo offer auctions at all. For as negatively as some people think of Yahoo, they sure do keep rolling out nifty new features. I think they're worth revisiting for casual leagues.

That could be interesting though, if you had to bid a certain amount. Didn't think of it that way.

Like an offer already made here if any chum or down on their luck sharks need some sands to enter just let me know. If you win it all just remember the little people who helped ya get there.

you know I am back in after winning it my 1st time trying last year.

wow, this has been the longest fantasy offseason I have ever taken. I hope it doesn't affect my upcoming season after having my best fantasy season last year.

I am not sure when I will draft, maybe this coming Sunday. I will pay up & post once I get that far. I am still in research mode. I missed this place . . .

Defintely interesting, though I wonder what a fair amount to have to spend would be ... half your budget? You'd still be able to pick up a top player, then budget pick the rest of the team.

I'd be curious to give it a test run.

Alternatively, you could simply require that you finish the auction with a certain amount of money left in your account. Maybe $75-100 or something. The system doesn't require that you spend it all.

In the spirit of K-DEF, though, you should probably be required to nominate a K and DEF on your first two turns, and then outbid anyone who takes a shot at your targets. Which will be easy, but at least you'll start everything out in the typical "wth" fashion.
