Starting the season by beating the defending Superbowl champs. Cannot start much better than that!

GO LIONS!!!

I only got to see pieces of it. The passing game looked good, but they didn't run well(surprise surprise).

no, they didn't run well, but they kept going to it......that impressed me.

on the defensive side, the run defense was very good.....outside of kelly's missed tackle on jacobs and his failure to redirect him inside toward the pursuit.

Same here. Nice to see them not just abondon the run completely even if it isn't working well.

Marinelli insists on improvement in ground game.

Quote:
"We're going to keep calling the plays and we're going to keep working at it," Lions coach Rod Marinelli said Friday. "Every game, we want to get more out of it, so we have to keep pushing."

One problem for the Lions is that they are now using a zone-blocking scheme that involves a great deal of cut blocking. Due to the risk of injury, teams have little chance to practice that, making exhibition games more important.

That's why Marinelli is considering giving the starting offensive line more snaps than his other starters.

How many times can you say they actually looked like a real team?

I saw the last half of the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter. Orlovsky and his offense looked really well. Stanton is coming around. It's too bad you can't see these guys play with the first offense... 8)

two overall impressive/promising performances so far from the ones all the way through the scrubs. running game still isn't near where it needs to be, but it is obvious marinelli and colletto will not give up on it. they understand that a focus on the running game is going to put roy and calvin in single coverage and we can make teams pay dearly when that happens.

love the competition at LB right now. leon joe has been a surprise. the guy is really pushing to make this team. we still have a long way to go, but i already like what i'm seeing vs. last year's team.....by a good margin.

next game will be very interesting, as we get a 3-4 defense and a team that by most observations should be contending for a playoff spot this year.

I do like what I see, but it's only pre-season game #2.

I'm happy with everything so far...

I'm trying to remember how the Lions did the last time I liked the way they looked in preseason. I only know the playoffs weren't involved.

The pessimist in me doesn't see them winning more than six.

And they STILL remain undefeated! If they win tomorrow I am going to have an "Undefeated 4-0" shirt made in their honor. 8)

If I buy 6 I can get them for a discount.

5 others want to chip in $25 bucks each for a shirt?

You know you want to!

(The black square is not part of the design.)
