Lito Sheppard-DB-Eagles May. 29 - 7:54 pm et

The Eagles are considering experimenting with Lito Sheppard at wide receiver during upcoming voluntary workouts.

Sheppard would reportedly be used in "situational offensive packages." It's something Sheppard, who lined up in the slot some at Florida, has reportedly been lobbying to do for sometime. Sheppard had six interceptions in 2006 and five in 2004. Though only 5'10/194, Sheppard couldn't be much worse at releasing from press coverage than DeSean Jackson (5'9/169).

Eagles Offense - TM May. 30 - 1:35 pm et

Eagles signed GM Tom Heckert to a contract extension through 2011.Howie Roseman was also promoted to VP of Player Personnel. Heckert was in the running for Atlanta's general manager vacancy in the winter, but somewhat surprisingly lost out to Thomas Dimitroff. Heckert, 41, is No. 2 on the Birds' decision-making depth chart, behind head coach Andy Reid.

Quintin Demps - DB May. 30 - 2:47 pm et

Eagles signed fourth-round FS Quintin Demps to a four-year contract.

A burner, Demps ran a 4.39 at the Combine and ranks second in UTEP history with 17 career picks. Demps will focus on special teams as a rookie, then possibly replace Brian Dawkins. The Birds hope he fares better than C.J. Gaddis.

Lorenzo Booker - RB May. 31 - 9:34 am et

Eagles RB Lorenzo Booker impressed coaches and teammates "with his speed, agility, and quick-strike potential" at minicamp.

Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said Booker was "even a little bit better" than the team expected while quarterback Kevin Kolb called him "a huge pick up for us." Booker won't see regular carries in Philly, but he gives the offense some interesting options out of the backfield.

Donovan McNabb-QB-Eagles Jun. 6 - 4:07 pm et

After teammate Kevin Curtis hinted that Donovan McNabb might be dealing with shoulder soreness, McNabb reportedly "looked fine" on Thursday.

The Philadelphia writers seemed to just be digging for a story. "He really had a good day," offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said. "He really threw the ball well." McNabb should return to being a top-ten fantasy QB this year.

Victor Abiamiri-DL-Eagles Jun. 6 - 4:11 pm et

Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson promises that second-year LE Victor Abiamiri will be on the field "quite a bit" this season.
Abiamiri continues to practice as a starter at OTAs. Johnson calls him "the ideal type of defensive end." The Birds might use Abiamiri like the Giants do Justin Tuck, kicking him inside to tackle on obvious passing downs.

Eagles holdout's mental state
Posted: Thursday July 31, 2008 06:44AM ET

Shawn Andrews, one of the best guards in football, is at home in Little Rock, Ark., and his absence is worrying the Eagles, who are fining him $15,000 a day. This is not a contract holdout, I've been assured. It has to do with personal problems and Andrews' mental state, I'm told.

Guess that plan is pretty much shot with his broken wrist.

If we're lucky he'll be back sometime during the season with a cast.

Maybe this is finally an opportunity for McDougal.

Ryan Moats-RB-Eagles Aug. 29 - 1:30 pm et

Ryan Moats was among eight players released by the Eagles Friday.
It's possible that Moats could end up in a third-down role elsewhere, but his stock has taken a hit over the past couple of seasons. Wide receivers Jamal Jones and Bam Childress, and safety Marcus Paschal were also released.

DeSean Jackson-WR-Eagles Sep. 4 - 9:33 am et

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is set to start against the Rams on Sunday.
It was thought that Reggie Brown and Hank Baskett were ahead of Jackson, but Brown may be limited with a strained hamstring. It's unclear who the other starter will be. "We'll mix guys in there," Andy Reid said. The Eagles play a lot of three-receiver sets, so expect touches to be shared.
