Depending on your C situation, VMart could turn out to be a very smart move.

You put him on DL for the season freeing the roster spot back up and assess his status at the begnning of the 2013 year. Even if they don't use him as an every day catcher next year, there's a good chance he'll DH and be one of the better hitting keeper options at C next year.

It will all depend on his health next year but my sense is he has at least one or two solid hitting years left. The only way he'd have even more potential short term value (2013) is in a 2 C keeper league.

Pretty sure that at least on ESPN, no impact at all for 2013.

I'm using Kendrys Morales as a guide ....he didn't play at all in 2011 but still has his 1B status (vs only DH) on ESPN entering 2012.

I think VMart will be a great pickup there, I was going to snag him and stash him on my DL had he been around later.

I considered him this round, but like Jackson's upside more. I think Fowler is reaching a bit of a crossroads and we are going to know if he can make the step to the next level.
