You'd seriously consider it, but would you do it if push came to shove? Utley cut over Wieters or a pitcher, because of diminishing production and health concerns?
Marcum over Pineda/Scherzer, because of AL vs. NL splits?
Marcum over Pineda and Scherzer because he's a better pitcher than either. Both are capable of more K's, and probably a couple more wins, but I'd bet on him to post the best ratios of the three, and he won't be far behind in strikeouts.
As for Choo, yeah, I think I would take him over Jennings and Utley. Jennings has talent, but I don't like his chances of being a star this year. He started hot last season and finished cold. I think he's going to need some time to adjust and he'll have some awful cold streaks. I don't think his production matches his hype this year.
Utley, eh. We've seen his average and slugging percentage decline for 4 straight years. Simply put, he's not an elite 2B any more. Yes, he's still a top 10 guy, but I don't think he has that top 2/3 ability any more. I'd certainly draft him again (depending on who else is available), but I wouldn't be afraid to let him go or be upset if I couldn't get him back.
