If it's a concussion, the earliest he can come back is the final.

I've been a little surprised with the attendance. Anything not Canada has been kind of bare.

That makes us (the community) surprised too. Ticket prices are a little steep for me personally, but they aren't out of line for regular Sabres games. I guess more people were thinking that there would be huge masses of foreign folks to show up than actually did. Tickets were only 3/4 sold out too. It's not like this creeped up on us too, it's been pimped heavily since we won it. This might not be such a great showing for us as a host community which is a little disappointing since we handle the NCAA Frozen Four and opening rounds of March Madness every few years and can't get them back fast enough.

As far as attendance goes, if the wiki page is to be believed (which I don't have great faith in), games are averaging 11,500 people. HSBC Arena sits 18,690 but Dwyer Arena only sits 2,100. Even still, HSBC Arena is only averaging some 75-85% capacity.

I'm sure (hopefully) it will fill up as the tournament gets into the later stages.

On a related note, Canada just destroyed Norway 10-1. Canada and Norway scored 8 goals in the first 21 minutes, then Canada piled on in the last couple minutes of the game. What a bloodbath, but a good one. I can't wait for US vs. GER tomorrow!

USA with a 4-0 victory tonight. \:D/

I think this USA team is better than last year's team. They look good, even without Zucker tonight

Disappointed with how many empty seats there were, but tickets were $90 for pretty much everywhere, and that's a tough sell to a crowd who will only pay that against marquee competition, and even then only in the lower bowl.

Team USA played a solid game and the score could have been much, much higher if a few more of their dozens and dozens of shots had leaked through.

That is a bit disappointing to see ticket prices that high. When we had it in Vancouver the tickets weren't nearly that high, but they sold packages first (all A pool games all Playoff games) and most of the tickets were sold that way. Then a month before they opened up all remaining tickets and they sold out completely. The B pool was done outside of Vancouver in a smaller market, but they sold that out as well.

If I remember correctly it cost me $900 for a pair of tickets to every pool A game and all the playoff games. So that works out to about $20/ticket. That was for seats in the 1st row of the upper bowl.

I've only seen Canadian and US games on TV, but they look like the are full.

You won't be clapping when you realize that means the road to the final for the US will have to go through Canada.

I have to say the Swedes deserved the win, we pounded the crap out of them but they kept skating hard and wouldn't be beat down.
